Remove Adam Malkovich from Other M and there's possibly a better story and game hidden all that crap. ALL of Other M's problems are because of Malkovich playing a larger role than even Samus. Plotholes, offhanded excuses and pointless sacrifice... Fuck this game.

Tried Galactic Racer thanks to my brother, spent four hours figuring out its system, eventually unlocked something related to the true King of Races. Spent another 30 minutes to get THAT gold medal for the Arcade mode of that track. Fun game, smart roguelite stuff.

Metroid 5: #MetroidDread became a reality five years ago. I spent 16 years believing it was a urban legend when it first appeared on a leak because of IGN. I was 16. Half of my life was spent in that bubble at the time. With Silksong and Hades, Dread impacted me the most in gaming this decade.

Just saw Kent Jones' Late Fame. I believe this is a beautiful film as it reminds me of the importance of making our own critical thinking of our own personal experiences in art. Some shortcuts in the plot, but I stand with those who say that Willem Dafoe deserves the Oscar nod. He's natural in it.

Just watched with my mother the film I chose to write about for a series of assignments, evaluating her feelings and reactions. I think I marked her for life with Eastern Promises. I'm glad... oops.

Motivated by @deegee2009.bsky.social to comment about physical media or lack of for Metroid Dread. As products get discontinued and second-hand is a solution, it is sad to see people will pay a premium unless a re-release is confirmed before Ravenous. From urban legend to reality... to ́lost art.

Both the Regular and Special Editions of MercurySteam's Metroid Dread (2021) along with MaxFactory's figma of Samus Aran (Dread Ver.)

Rare becoming a support studio for a publisher focused on the most generic breed of shooters after pioneering console shooters with GoldenEye and Perfect Dark in the 90's is a sad irony. Banjo-Kazooie: Guns & Bullets?

What I’ve been playing as of late:

000

Alex Armont @scolioreset.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

Having just watched The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), I can safely say that it might equal Casino as one of the worst Scorsese films I’ve seen so far. The dissonance and tonal shifts in comedy and drama make the film extremely boring. Even the safety cards don’t save it.

Alex Armont @scolioreset.bsky.social · 18/08/2026

Yup. It sure is impressive with the strength and weakness of the film stock. I’m privileged to have experienced the way it was meant to be. It reinforces the intended visuals, but it does amplify some issues for the editing and effects. It gave a new appreciation of the entire work on display.

Took a while… I finally watched John Carpenter’s The Thing for the first time. Of course, some of the decisions made are a bit silly but that’s the beauty of the genre. I struggle to call it body horror since the finality of the “reality” happens so quick with little development. Thingu’s better.

St. HP. In the context of Killer Instinct, it’s exceptional. In any other game, it would be overpowered. Love this move! As simple as it is, it is an immense pressure tool and for a grappler, it’s perfect!

A beautiful reminder that Gordon Cole (David Lynch) said the right thing.

“When you became Denise, I told all of your colleagues, those clown comics, to fix their hearts or die.” - Gordon Cole (David Lynch) to Denise Bryson (David Duchovny), Twin Peaks: The Return.

After clearing my duty of seeing a Lynch in theatres, I can add a Cronenberg. I enjoyed that second genuine watch of Eastern Promises. THAT fight scene is STILL one of the best ever produced. The setup, the framing. Yeah, you see a lot. That ticket is gonna go straight into the Blu-Ray steelbook.
