Said goodbye to this view this morning—for now. Flying home and back to the day-to-day. Plenty of photos from the Z8 to edit. Some of them may even be good.

Marisa's entire piece is terrific, but this part has really stuck with me. A group of College Republicans decided that El-Sayed wasn't "welcome" in the Senate and set out to stop him.
“If you don’t know, I asked Abdul a tough question during his last town hall meeting, and it generated a VERY negative news cycle for him,” one member wrote in a Michigan College Republicans GroupMe chat, according to the Daily. “We are going to coordinate questions to ask him and spread out to increase the chances we’re called on. We’re gonna boo him. We’re gonna show everyone that ABDUL IS NOT WELCOME IN THE SENATE.”

when a side defects without consequence you are now playing a fundamentally rigged game and the only way to fix it is to ensure defectors are punished in such a way that they learn there are consequences to all their choices

Part of the answer to "how did we get here?" is that many major journalists—since 1998, Crawford has covered SCOTUS for PBS, ABC, and CBS—are lying bigots. Here Crawford is praising a guy who asked a dumb racist question, glitched out when asked why, then admitted he wanted a Christian theocracy.

One would be good and the other would be bad because one cause is good and the other is bad. We are not in the realm of procedural justice concerns anymore, liberalism is not obligated to be neutral on the question of its own existence.

i have survived my 1st volunteer first responder night shift at an EDM concert & my one takeaway is that 1/ finishing the night with only a tiny bit of puke on my pants is the greatest accomplishment of my adult life 2/ i could definitely have slept more than 2 hours this morning 3/ that was awesome

It seems a lot of people have no idea what's going on in regard to open weights The oligarchs stand against open and free technology. They want your rent. There's a significant movement amongst whom "alignment" and "trad values" are synonymous. They've played the anti-AI crowd for absolute fools.

I haven’t interacted with a model in two weeks. I’m barely posting. I have walked at least 18k steps a day, met a lady with a bike, and hiked up to an old tower over a twice-abandoned village. I feel great.

Yeah, it’s just a really bad idea in practice and unless they can fix some of the underlying issues, I would never want a car like this
010 1
Scoiattolo @scarnecchia.net · 14/10/2026
This is a bad feature because the car has two screens and they often disagree with each other on the speed limit. They also often disagree with the actual speed limit.
