Watching more Kaiju No.8. The second season gets more shonen-y but I still am enjoying it. I love *all* the characters in it, even though there were a lot of them I *thought* I wouldn’t like. (At this point, I think Hoshina is my favorite, but I am still very partial to Kafka and Ichikawa.)

Release Day at work today. I had all sorts of fun errors I hadn’t anticipated today (seriously, I think Git pulled out every merge error it could, including hitting size limits) but we have a new version of the Viewer out! And I am Tired. 😵

I know all these feelings all too well. I just always try to remind myself: emotions are unconscious reactions - we cannot change how we feel, only how we act on those feelings. So there is no shame in having a feeling, including having shame about having a feeling!

Back home after a whirlwind weekend trip up to Nova Scotia with my Mum to visit my 102-year-old Great Aunt and our cousin. Despite the usual Mom chaos curse creating some technical car difficulties, we had a great visit, found Mum’s recently-deceased friend’s grave, and made it there/home safe.

This is a challenge because there is backstory to cover before we head into the climax, and I am writing + publishing this particular story serially (instead of drafting the whole story first), so there are lots of details that need to get covered, too - without it feeling forced or running long.

Oh nooo! I have feelings on sub-pumps. (My first live-away-from-home place was a basement “apartment” that got flooded with a ~foot of water once because 1) house “owner” didn’t tell me there was a sub pump to check, and 2) stuffed the closet where it was set up so full of junk that it broke.)

Wrote things in the Fic chapter today that I feel are actually making it work (as opposed to throwing a scene at the wall and hoping it sticks)! Chocolate chip and variants (without fruit)! Story - One time on Christmas, my cousins and I (all teens) were banned from the kitchen and we didn’t get any breakfast (not intentional - long story). About 11am, my Dad showed up with a bag. “Good news is: I brought cookies! Bad news is: I baked them.”
