I agree. But that's just it. A mob doing murder as spectacle is a mob. Horrific, but it's a mob. A government doing it is horrific, and they're supposed to be better than that, they're a government.

It is NYCC weekend. Not the biggest weekend for comics, but...not small, either. Marvel has announced that their Unlimited app is sunsetting, to be replaced by a new app from Webtoon. In the app, a "see FAQ" popup comes up, and opens to...this. Well done, Marvel.

Some of the partners at my firm used Dictaphones. When I started, they were still _cassette_ models. They would dictate an email, leave the cassette on their secretary's desk, and come back later/the next day to a typed and formatted email for proofing. This was an IP LAW FIRM IN 2011.

I was struck that Mamdani just released his plan to combat anti-Semitism, and he sidestepped the question of Israel, seeing it as separate from anti-Semitism. For us, these issues intersect and overlap.

I strongly doubt Adobe is freaking out over this. For many reasons. First, the breathless post notwithstanding, the project probably didn't 'decompile' anything. (At least if the AI followed the instructions it was allegedly given.) It's an attempt to rebuild Adobe from observed functions.

One thing I find endlessly funny about the rise of AI is that it has revealed that there is a large number of people who believe that the reason they wrote essays at school or university is their teachers were desperately waiting for them to provide a definite answer to “Lear: what’s up with him?”
