Another handful of sand in the gears: Researchers cannot serve on a panel *at all* if anyone from their institution has submitted to that panel. Recusing themselves for the proposal itself is no longer sufficient. This is needless, but will certainly slow things up even further.

Due to Bluesky text limits, not all words on the graphic can be incorporated into the ALT text.

The graphic displays an image of a clipping from the Congressional Comittee on Science, Space, and Technology's letter to President Donald J. Trump sent on May 12th, 2026 condeming the firing of the entire National Science Board. The clipping expresses the commitee's outrage for the firing of the NSB and their concern for the ways this will weaken American science. Another clipping reads: "Purging the 22 scientists who are responsible for guiding NSF is the nail in the coffin for an agency that has weathered 15 months of attacks by you and your ignorant cronies." The graphic also reads: "Congress calls out Trump for NSB Firing, SIGN YOUR SUPPORT FOR NSB, LINK IN. BIO". The graphic also includes the red Stand Up for Science logo.
