A general honest approach is the only 'road' to knowing (probability of) the truth (reality) Imagine an honest 'world?' It's difficult to change someone's (inc. a businesses) behaviour when their "salary" depends on them spreading misinformation.

I think whatever the approach, politically speaking, the approach can only be actionable at the required level & sustained in perpetuity when enough people in a population sociopolitically align with 'wanting' to sustain "nature" (is that level of wisdom possible?)

SciComm @scicommunicator.bsky.social · 06/10/2026
That's all completely (objectively) true. To change that, we'd have to have a general economic model that included sustaining the "environment" (AKA "nature" or "ecosystem services") That can only happen if "big business" regulates itself & \ or is regulated by government

SciComm @scicommunicator.bsky.social · 05/10/2026
It's 100% explicit (written in business policies) that "the private sector" is exclusively about making a profit for it's shareholders (& "managers") If protecting "nature" (e.g., insects, birds, etc) was profitable (in the limited context of a private business), "they'd" invest money on nature

This is a historic moment: the first time the rights of Nature have entered the UK parliamentary process. The Bill recognises Nature as a legal subject, reorders the hierarchy of rights, creates a duty of care towards Nature and embeds Nature’s rights into UK decision-making across all sectors.

Change is inevitable. Better to make the positive changes now, rather than have to deal with the negative, for example environmental consequences, later...But, "the status quo" are forms of top down (mis)management. E.g., 'rich' businesses lobbying governments to maintain bad \ unhealthy policies
