What I do think is interesting about Paxton, in particular, is that he's very Trump-like. Absolutely the sort of candidate that the GOP thought "Well, the boss is Teflon so obviously they'll vote for Paxton" and it just once again shows that Donny's armor doesn't transfer to literally anyone else

This is, I think, very accurate. The playbook on Talarico was based on he wasn't Texas enough or w/e, and when it crashed and burned because PAxton is literally a rotting crime elemental, they had absolutely zero fallback.

This is also very good, and also puts into perspective what we could actually assume polling bias to look like, which is not 6 points, it's ~1-2 points. I think the thing that gets me so much about the polling bias types is that they aren't really factoring in how deep the hole the GOP is in.
