Our canvas feature is preeeeetty goated for the visually inclined 👀 I made a canvas about me in my publication! It even works well on mobile!!! ooo.owwo.ooo/about

A blog home page’s About Me tab that has a header featuring the blogs name (owwo) and body which is a collage of two pictures of the author with some light doodling on top

The same collage style about me page on a mobile screen size

damnnn, leaflet team did NOT have to go so hard on improving our visual canvas features! (& @cozylittle.house did not have to go so hard on that domain name amirite? 👀 ooo.owwo.ooo 👀) really fun for all sorts of things, from quick brainstorm sketches to visual blog layouts…<3 to see what you make!

We've improved our Leaflet onboarding!!! Now when you log in for the first time, you'll be greeted by this lil guy and find more guidance overall on how to start a publication and write your first post!!

a lil guy pops out of a bend in a hilly path. There is a speech bubble above him that says "Welcome to Leaflet!"

"this post is the project" what else is like this?

brendan @schlage.town · 29/09/2026

very fair haha, I have more blogs in theory that in practice 😂 anyway pckt is awesome too & we're here if we can help w/ anything no matter where you end up publishing!

oh yeah great one! and I think a bunch of the changes @cozylittle.house has made for improving comics & serialized stories could be useful for multi-part tutorials / courses too

010

brendan @schlage.town · 29/09/2026

and @jesseplusplus.com always glad to know if there are things you wish you could do more easily in leaflet! we do also see a number of folks using multiple platforms but split up by publication (much simpler) which is cool & still nice to be all connected to same identity

120

brendan @schlage.town · 29/09/2026

yeah we *should* show all on your profile, but only allow editing leaflet ones (may be a bug if we show others on dash) platform agnostic pub's def cool in theory, but many differences across platforms, both w/ editor particulars & publication-level options…possible to migrate just a lil trickier

120

brendan @schlage.town · 29/09/2026

I really want to see more educators & learners of all kinds using leaflet in cool ways…hope this helps a bit! homepage for a hobby club? group blog for a course? zine-style project documentation? reading list? yes yes yes and yes! + reach out w/ ideas that'd make leaflet more useful for ya :D

Help fund our lil indie operation! Larger legacy communities on Discord can now pay $30/month to unlock live bridging at scale for the purpose of either safe-keeping or incrementally transitioning their community to Roomy and the atmosphere. should we add a $5/month good-vibes-only supporter plan?

ha I feel this with @leaflet.pub as well! quick to get a fun doc editor / blog app; *big* lift to get close to google docs / substack parity …but on the flip side now we *are* close, for docs *and* blogging…which feels great! big shout out to @roomy.space for making so much progress here 🙌

Love that! Yeah finding the right ringleaders may be the biggest challenge, but I'm into this format. And I'm sure things we could do to help facilitate & make easier. I think we could've framed the 'field reporter' thing differently, less curation more catalyst…giving me good ideas for next time!

000

brendan @schlage.town · 25/09/2026

Great points! Trying to get at that a bit with the idea of prompts to focus communal conversation, @awarm.space has some ideas around this kind of collab challenge / "blog jams" & I'd be interested to see if we could make like a more modular prompt mechanism easy to add in any post too

brendan @schlage.town · 25/09/2026

I hope so! and would love any feedback on how we could make it better for this kind of thing :)

What can WE do? platform features / affordances… What can YOU do? strategies for engaging readers etc… What can we ALL do? e.g. to help onboard more folks to the atmosphere… I'd love to hear thoughts from field reporters and *anyone* interested in publishing + community/scene-building!

120

brendan @schlage.town · 25/09/2026

A few ideas (plz share more!)— - a way to auto-tag on bsky any accounts mentioned in the post (to better bridge shortform <> longform convo) - more ways to reply, e.g. via leaflet post - an explicit way to publish prompts / q's for readers - [future]…integration w/ bluesky spaces/communities?!

310

brendan @schlage.town · 25/09/2026

Reflecting a bit on our @leaflet.pub ~atmosphere field reporter~ experiment so far… TL;DR, mixed results — some great publications, but *not* a lot of generating convo / activity across scenes My main q rn: how can we better help with this part?

110

brendan @schlage.town · 25/09/2026

lol nice, king meee 👑 "A note on you: Worth flagging: @schlage.town shows up in the platform's own top-10 for both document recommends (151, #6 overall) and subscriptions (235, #5 overall)………you're already one of the ecosystem's more active connectors — not just its chronicler."

020

brendan @schlage.town · 25/09/2026

this took like 10+ minutes to generate lmao though don't trust it to be fully accurate/comprehensive…def see some inaccuracies, e.g. one listed having 500+ documents on offprint+leaflet but actually all on a custom site (+ I know there are others w/ more total docs that are not mentioned here)

110

brendan @schlage.town · 25/09/2026

haha saw the Offprint one, nice…pckt y'all have attie access too right if you wanna play around more? anyway I just tried making one on @standard.site overall MVPs + sections for all of our platforms, fun to see the overview, and how many ppl are publishing cross-platform

attie.ai

110

brendan @schlage.town · 25/09/2026

Hahaha fun! I wonder if you could filter it for active publications though, like ones that actually resolve + have at least one post…I think by that measure you'd climb the ranks even more :p (e.g. many of mine & most of Miguel's are for testing; seems like a bunch of others overcounted too)

I made a little social bibliography atproto app. You can post papers you read and see what your friends are reading. Paper info autofills from links, and it exports to bibtex. There's chronological and following only feeds, maybe more to come, and you can organize papers into lists for your own use.

Nice! My oldest just turned 3, thinking it'll be fun to try playtesting some things with different ages & maybe calibrate some variations that can work well for a range

020

brendan @schlage.town · 24/09/2026

who are the cool weird creative parents of bsky / the atmosphere?? do you know one? perhaps…you *are* one? I'm exploring a side project, loosely around playful activities for kids & parents (wordplay; ballplay; etc) & wanna know who to ping once I have more to share! (new blog soon? maybe maybe!)

5169

brendan @schlage.town · 24/09/2026

😂 it may still be somewhat suspect…took a few iterations with the query, first time I was like "uhh Aaron needs to be on the list right" and attie was like "oh whoops yes of course!"

010

brendan @schlage.town · 24/09/2026

wordpress also has a plugin for publishing to @standard.site so posts can be discoverable on the atmosphere! activitypub.blog/2026/05/20/a...

brendan @schlage.town · 24/09/2026

Lots more great folks listed too…just had it update & found several I hadn't seen before Particularly cool to see multilingual pubs / regional advocates (German, Catalan, French, Japanese, Portuguese etc) Attie's still pretty experimental, not taking this as comprehensive, but a useful tool

more Leaflet MVPS: Satin Crescent, Sygnin, Belle, Jürgen, Stuart Houghton, tenue31

more Leaflet MVPS: Shireen Jeejeebhoy, Olivier Simard-Casanova, cata, Bobby, Andre Jiroh Eugenio, Trey Bastian, Kitagawa Ryona, Ivan Bea, Lyre Calliope

more Leaflet MVPS: Ranganaut, Rob Ricci, Masaya, Romain Leclaire, J. Haley, kacaii, Jason Morehead, New_ Public, Kuba Suder, Marvin [aka Bailey lol], Grahame Watt, Jeremy Van

A little while back I ran an @attie.ai query to surface some ~Leaflet MVPs~ and wanted to share! Shout out to current TOP MVPS 👑🏆: @aaronrosspowell.com @debbieohi.com @norbertwoehnl.com @bmann.ca Really appreciate all these folks, and ofc everyone else using + talking about @leaflet.pub!

tier 1, top 4 Leaflet MVPs: Aaron Ross Powell, Debbie Ridpath Ohi, Norbert Woehnl, Boris Mann

brendan @schlage.town · 24/09/2026

interesting q! I like a kind of combo approach - tiers, but most content free + e.g. periodic subscriber drives - occasional exclusives for superfans (behind the scenes, tangential deep dives etc) - options for one-off support (*not* micropayments but like "buy this zine" or "support this project")
