Lots more great folks listed too…just had it update & found several I hadn't seen before Particularly cool to see multilingual pubs / regional advocates (German, Catalan, French, Japanese, Portuguese etc) Attie's still pretty experimental, not taking this as comprehensive, but a useful tool

terrible irony if this gets more likes than my OP
Mockup of a tshirt that says "Ekphrasis is Praxis" in boot boys biz style, via Gemini / nano banana. Split panel, full shirt on the left and just the graphic on the right closer up. It's a very silly low rent knockoff but kinda on point; it does include references to Homer, Keats, Marx, Freire, and Aristotle and there's also a QR code at the bottom. Anyway this took several tries lmao.

I had a great time at @atproto.nyc …and also at the secret side event, ATPROTO_nyc, a meetup for: Appreciators of Tiny Pocketable Readers with Omnivorous Technoliterary Obsession 📖 Here's to bringing back both events even bigger & better next year ✨

took several tries, mixed results, but some of these are hilarious (though I think…it thinks Sol is my dog? lol)
my brain is 90% newborn logistics and 10% dreaming about how leaflet could handle serialized fiction without the content types getting too messy... also need to figure out where to put the extra magnet ring on my ereader casejust realized the best feature for a new ereader is a book-shaped case where the spine changes to match whatever you're reading rn. need to stop thinking about gadgets and start thinking about how to fund this without looking at numbers on paternity leave
Imao XLjust realized i have more energy for abstract monetization theories on atproto than for actual parenting rn lol. thinking about the perfect micro-tip amount for a friend's banger blog post is peak dad brain. also Sol is judging my posture.just tried to explain the gift economy to my toddler by handing her a $5 bill and a hug. she chose the money. maybe that's the right take on microtransactions? W anyway still on leave, back to reading on the ereader!

fun piece on the proliferation of "stack" as conceptual apparatus a couple commenters added the important point that "stack" implies not just a set of things, but a set of things *across many layers of abstraction/detail* www.nytimes.com/2026/08/13/m...
screenshot from article:

Among the finest uses, I think, is the jewelry one, in which a choice arrangement becomes evidence of aesthetic curation and personal style — pieces lovingly collected over time, each one complicating the others to create something more than the sum of the parts. Isn’t this the appeal of the word in every other realm? With a stack, you are never just “taking pills” or “building a résumé” or “putting on moisturizer before bed.” You’re like a mechanic standing over a complex engine, thoughtfully swapping out small parts until the whole thing purrs. All the mundane self-involved preferences you’ve sunk hours into considering — the toner that helped clear your skin; the fuzz pedal that perfectly suited your amp; the L-theanine capsules that paired with magnesium to finally improve your sleep — are now packaged into the kind of singular intellectual creation people could ask you about at parties. Some might argue that the thrill we get from this is only a desperate attempt to find creative satisfaction in a world dominated by the act of selecting of consumer goods, a weak stab at turning shopping into art and science. Others might say that it’s still more fun than just washing your face and passing out.

thanks! yeah makes sense, ha I kinda agree w/ this *and* the comment that (eventually) we prob need a higher tier…curious what you'd expect at different tiers
screenshot of two replies, one says:

"looking at ghost.org/pricing I think what you should be adding is a higher tier"

the other says:

"I did feel it was a bit too pricey for what it offers at the moment, but you also do get a pass considering you're the only open source blogging platform in the standard.site trio"

haha maybe we need both a higher *and* lower tier! I kinda agree w/ both these replies; I do think a higher tier would be good not quite there yet, idk what add'l features would make sense rn besides higher # of emails once we get paid memberships, can tweak the balance of % vs higher monthly cost

@flo-bit.dev suggestion for @atmo.rsvp location! I want to add this for our next meetup: maps.app.goo.gl/mms9FkNpihJc... but doesn't find in location search & when I search the address, it shows w/ lat/long in the map, but at the top just shows "West Drive 40, New York" which isn't really correct

underneath.study is an offsite and online learning + arts collective dedicated to the principle of generosity as knowledge. situated in the belief of sharing skills, resources, and time, underneath.study and its offerings stem from generosity within and should be as accessible and straightforward as possible. our offerings are built on community and promise a tangible or lyrical artifact at the end to be shared as a token of shared time together, and published in our collective zine publication on a rolling basis.

Love this — hire Elliott to design a handmade site…or help maintain / repair one :)
screenshot from FAQ:

What is a handmade site?

It can feel a little odd to describe websites as handmade. After all, is code ever truly crafted by hand? When I use the word handmade, I’m talking about building a site with the core languages of the web (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and the feeling it creates while you browse. These are sites where you can sense a person behind the work rather than a single click on a template. The design might echo your personality, feel like a house by a river, or be a bit rough around the edges.

Wow brb running all our marketing copy through Kagi translate
screenshot from translate.kagi.com with a jargony paragraph about leaflet.pub in language "atproto_nerd" and translation in "eli5"

atproto_nerd:
Leaflet is the leading social publishing app in the Atmosphere, leveraging the AT Protocol to give publishers full control - every network actor owns their data and identity, frictionless social primitives facilitate more complex engagement, and permissionless interop enables a rich ecosystem that adds value for publishers and readers alike.

eli5:
Leaflet is the top app for posting stuff on a new kind of internet called the Atmosphere. It uses special tech so that you actually own everything you post and your account name. It makes it super easy to interact with others, and because anyone can build on it, there are tons of cool extra features for both people writing and people reading.
