My husband has been saying this. playing real bad games is actually healthy because you actually know what is actually bad and what is actually okay. I feel like people just blow things out of proportion now because they get curated a lot of good games and way less buggy ones

I still see a lot of confusion about what decompilation, recompilation and ports are and what level of effort is involved in each type of project. It's important that people understand the difference, as recompilation took a drastically different meaning that when it was originally introduced.

We finished wolverine and I am SO confused about anything in that game.

At the part in AC Black Flag Remastered where you have to do ship stealth and I'm just "man they really didn't change THIS????" It was always so freaking stupid.

Even if I agree with the general arc of what someone is saying, I'm like "some of y'all really need to detach from the keyboard and touch grass." Some games do need to be [child's first genre]. Not every game y'all played growing up was kaizo hard and again, not every song is gonna be about you!

People would say I would be too mean or too critical to a video game but bruh at least where I come from is facts. Some of the shit I read is indicative of folks not being media literate or understanding the audience for a piece of media at all. Not every song is gonna be about you, honey!

Reaching a point where I will play something in full before reading the discourse, then going back to read the discourse, and disagreeing ... Not generally because my opinion is the opposite, but sometimes I wonder if I'm on a different wavelength? Some folks really exaggerate shit.

it actually glosses over that. like yes it is about akibahara and has idol stuff and cosplay stuff etc, but it is ultimately about something else entirely. the "A Hideo Kojima Game" comparison is not a joke. Noi and I were literally like "GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS" out loud.

haven't been playing games much cuz my husband and i had been putting in extra hours for work for at least a month until we closed on our house. we've been on vacation so were able to knock a few games out still have wolverine and now silent hill to play and have to return to black flag.

51. Ak!ba Lost I went in expecting a Machi or 428, but I got a completely batshit game akin to A Hideo Kojima Game with some of the same plot points that I couldn't help but to laugh during the game's last hour! It's also riddled with text and formatting errors. Needed multiple proofreaders and QA.

50. Onimusha: Way of the Sword There were a lot of times where I asked my husband, "why are you fighting this for the 3000th time". The repetition and lengthy quest drags and otherwise okay game down. At hour 20, you're left wondering why we're still trudging through the same bosses over and over.

49. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Back in the day, ads used to hype this game up as a living breathing battlefield with nowhere to hide because of the psyche gauge and influencing NPC battles. It's like that in Chapter 2 sorta, then becomes a Hideo Kojima game lmao MGS4's 71-min cutscene

It is written like MCU dialogue. Movie was better if you can believe it. Protagonist in the novel is basically like "WELL AAAAAACKTCHUALLY" half the time.
