I've been immersed in research on Reconstruction in Lousiana and it's a very difficult truth to absorb that the white terrorist movement in the South was among the most successful terrorist movements in global history. Took 10 years but it won a total & complete victory through murder and atrocity.

Homelessness in Wisconsin has risen 16% over the past five years, accounting for 5,200 people. Some of them are less visible, living in their cars day to day, taking their kids to school and finding safe places to park at night. Read their stories: wisconsinwatch.org/2026/09/wisc...

These people had protected status. They lived here legally. They worked, they paid taxes. They made lives. Raised families. Now we’ve dehumanized them. Ripped away that protection and told them to get out. This is a stain on the soul of this Nation.

Something I’ve always admired about Dolly Parton is that on many issues she didn’t just tell you where she stood. She showed you where she stood with her actions, money, and time. Honoring her legacy means recognizing her support of literacy, racial justice, inclusion, and queer and trans rights.

THREAD. Contrary to what you are being told, 40 years of polling have established that shifting money away from police/prisons toward social services is one of the most popular public policies among *all* political demographics. But it's not just that, it goes way deeper.

To be clear, I also hate data centers. The tech oligarchs are truly evil. I also hate factory farms. And industrial pollution. But those things sadly happen. So let’s regulate them in ways that minimize the harm and benefit the people as much as possible.

All the partisan gerrymandering was always (in part) racial gerrymandering, because the parties' politics were always (in part—but large part) about race. So when you tell Southern legislatures "you can do partisan gerrymandering, but no racial gerrymandering," they know it means they can do both.

Bail is for people who haven't been convicted of a crime. This is voter disenfranchisement. This keeps eligible voters from voting & creates justifiable distrust of electeds among families, who then may not vote. When you blame your problems on non-voters, perhaps ask what disenfranchised them.
