If everyone could please stop emailing me for a few weeks, that would be great. Just no communication at all while I catch up. Thank you.

A dude who assumes any and all sports references are to men finally gets the public scorn and embarrassment he deserves. It’s a tiny win in a landslide of Ls these days, but I’ll take it.

Before calling someone a “dirtbag,” the Senator should have had his facts straight. An apology is in order. Glad one of us knew the difference between the Atlanta Hawks and the Iowa Hawkeyes!

Gobsmacked by the elite levels of not knowing ball in the Senate today, thinking an NBA team is called the Hawkeyes then, refusing to Google it, then accusing a guy of treason because you didn’t know the Iowa Lady Hawkeyes aren’t in the NBA. Somehow I don’t trust these people to Save Girls Sports.

OMG this mariachi band doing the national anthem is amazing and an incredibly subversive political statement that I did not expect to come from… Chicago Bears management?

4. Jay Feely: "If they lived a real life and they were they were making, you know, 50, 60 grand as a teacher or a coach or, you know, going out, getting a job… I think every person at WNBA would appreciate a lot more. They wouldn’t complain near as much about what they’re making."

3. Jay Feely: “Girls are so emotional that to go out and play their best, they have to be right emotionally. You know, whereas guys, like, we can fight in the locker room… it doesn’t matter.”

1. Jay Feely, a former NFL kicker and a GOP candidate for Congress in Arizona, has made “protecting women’s sports” a centerpiece of his election campaign. So I reviewed years of Feely’s podcast appearances to see what he actually thinks about female athletes. 🧵

Did you ever see The Hunting Ground? The system and academia have failed women over and over again with no accountability.

From what I’ve read Cornell’s handling has been pathetic and lacking any transparency, and the Daily Sun staff have done a great job calling them out and demanding better.

Hard to know what to add. It’s horrific. The latest in an endless stream of headlines illuminating what it is to live as a woman in a totally fucked patriarchy that’s been horrific forever & is only getting more brazen & unapologetic under an administration that displays outright hatred for women.

Remember editors? Fact checkers? Doing the work instead of dumping a search into AI and just runnin' with it despite what you may have seen with your own eyes?

Someone might want to let Jim Fuller of the AP know that Rachid Meziane is a man. Based on a quick search Jim is a real person, not AI. And based on his Twitter he was actually in attendance for the final game last night, so this is a real head scratcher. The Sun deserved a better send-off.

The Sun will be renamed the Comets starting next season.

This has been a difficult final season for the Sun. Five of the 10 players who played Thursday were rookies. Connecticut and Toronto each finished with 11-33 records and await the WNBA Draft lottery.

Sun coach Rachid Meziane's message to her team was that the time to say goodbye was after the game.

“People will never forget this franchise, never forget the name on the jersey,” she said.
