Briefing note on the Conversion Practices Bill
I will be discussing this Bill at the Battle of Ideas on Sunday 18 October so publish here a recent briefing note I drafted, to put my concerns in context.

I’ve followed and supported this defamation claim for some time. The offer to compromise makes cogent points on the findings of the BSB and its independent reviewer dismissing the complaint as an obstacle to a defence of truth to defamation, and on the vulnerability of the complainant as a witness

Those who crusade on behalf of individuals, to promote an ideology or increase fund raising, must owe some duty of care to their psychological well being.

The Conversion Practices Bill
Is this capable of bringing down both the criminal AND family justice systems? Much more work needs to be done to analyse the impact of this bill on the already tottering family justice system.

On 13 June 2026 I went to Chippenham Pride. It was dedicated to gender identity. Where does this leave women's rights, children's safety and the rule of law?

Truth, Lies and the Public Interest.
What are the dangers of academia corrupted by ideological delusion? Whose version of 'truth' should prevail in court? To what degree can it ever be in the 'public interest' to assert what is untrue?

You platformed Alan Baker, a very violent man out on licence for really serious criminal offences and you tell us this in the kind of man we should ‘include’ in single sex female spaces because he says he’s a woman. Expect comment.

The Bar Standards Board sent the GLP a detailed determination rejecting the complaint of harassment on 27 March 2026. Yet it has taken the GLP almost a week to update its followers on this outcome, and to do so with redaction of examples of the complainant’s own abusive language cited by the BSB

1. The Darlington nurses won their discrimination case against an NHS trust, but a piecemeal destruction of unlawful practices is too slow. Sex Matters says, "The coming year will test whether institutions are willing to comply with the law – or whether they will have to be compelled to do so."

The Supreme Court judgment on the meaning of sex in the Equality Act brought legal clarity to sex-based rights last year, and most people agree with it.

Have a good day Sammy. I have to get on with my day. I am glad at least you agree that medicalising children to prop up an ‘identity’ should be a last resort.
210
Sarah Phillimore @sarahphillimore.bsky.social · 27/11/2025
Of course not. You are just another mentally fragile person who thinks an ‘identity’ makes you special or interesting. Be and do whatever you like that is within the law. I don’t care about your ‘gender’ - I care about your sex. If it’s male, stay out of female spaces.
130
Sarah Phillimore @sarahphillimore.bsky.social · 27/11/2025
You tell me Sammy. Even if the answer is ‘none’ I am still not going to agree that we let men into women’s spaces. Please stay out.
130
Sarah Phillimore @sarahphillimore.bsky.social · 27/11/2025
We don’t. So your opinion is just as worthless as mine. But what we do know is that medicalising children didn’t ramp up until 2015 and there is still no evidence that that intervention has benefits: increasing evidence of the harm it does. Do what you want to your adult body. Leave children alone
120
Sarah Phillimore @sarahphillimore.bsky.social · 27/11/2025
Hopefully few because we keep men out.
110
Sarah Phillimore @sarahphillimore.bsky.social · 27/11/2025
Trans identifying men are men. You can’t change sex. This is a fact and it is not ‘racism’ or any kind of phobia to acknowledge a fact. Women have a right to single sex female spaces. I will go on saying and believing this. If it distresses you, don’t engage with me.
130
Sarah Phillimore @sarahphillimore.bsky.social · 27/11/2025
So it’s interesting isn’t it that we didn’t have a wave of children committing suicide from 1900 because they couldn’t medically transition?
220
Sarah Phillimore @sarahphillimore.bsky.social · 27/11/2025
And here I am, responding to a rude and insulting trans identifying man without becoming emotionally dysregulated - because I am not mentally ill. It will be interesting to see how long ‘Sammy’ can last.
110
Sarah Phillimore @sarahphillimore.bsky.social · 27/11/2025
I am very aware of my privilege and very aware of when I see others attempting to abuse it. White men are demanding access to female spaces: just as they have always done. Women will continue to resist them.
