For the avoidance of doubt, the decision to disregard research on inequalities is also an ideological one. Choosing to focus on individual differences is an ideological decision; unsurprisingly, one that is preferable to government, despite their framing of it as apolitical

I have had death threats for my work on trans rights. I have been stalked. I have had people try and have me thrown out of my University. I am by no means alone, and lots of trans-inclusive academics have spoken publicly about the violence and harassment they face. But no mention of that here.

Miss Rachel isn’t on Bluesky, but her posts about Gaza should be. I wish this wasn’t so unusual to see from people with big platforms.
A post on Threads from Miss Rachel, a well-known children’s educator and entertainer: “What’s it like for kids in Gaza?” my little boy asks me.

Well, kids don’t have medical care & can’t go to the doctor like us. They don’t get to go to school like you & learn & play. They don’t have enough food or water or a safe place to live.

“Why?”🥺

I feel my heart breaking. I can’t tell my son it’s some natural disaster. That there’s not enough food or medicine in the world. It’s that grown-ups are keeping these basic human rights away from children. It’s a choice. Two posts on Threads from Miss Rachel, a well-known children’s educator and entertainer.

The first post says: “Leaders -

Be so ashamed that your constituents are begging & pleading for you speak out and you stay silent.

Be so ashamed that you put money & power & your career before the lives of precious children of God.

Be so ashamed that our religions tell us to give to the poor, feed the hungry & open our arms to all children & you pretend that they mean only for some children.”

The second post says: “Celebrities as well. If everyone says something it won’t be controversial anymore. It’s never been wrong to say starving and bombing kids is wrong.

God help everyone have the strength to say something. Please, God.”A post on Threads from Ms Rachel, a popular children’s educator and entertainer: “If you want to be remembered for saying something about Gaza before the entire world does, now would be the time.”

“I'll start with myself. During my decades at the university I've been an extraordinary bigot.”
I'll start with myself. During my decades at the university I've taught many controversial ideas, including the reality of sex differences, the heritability of intelligence and the evolutionary roots of violence (while inviting my students to disagree, as long as they provide reasons). I claim no courage: The result has been zero protests, several university honors and warm relations with every chair, dean and president.

The flood of dismissive and invalidating remarks by health care providers about disorders affecting the vulva and vagina can be devastating for women, sometimes leading them to abandon their search for help with their pain, researchers reported Thursday in JAMA Network Open.

The study focused on patients at a vulvovaginal clinic who were seeking medical care for a variety of disorders that may cause pain, sexual dysfunction, and bowel or bladder dysfunction.Of the health care providers you have seen, how many made you feel your symptoms were 'all in your head?""

Me and my dad on Wembley way. I’m (on the left) wearing a red forest shirt and red and white scarf. My dad, on the right, is wearing a red forest shirt and red baseball cap. A picture of Wembley way, taken from the top of the stairs outside Wembley. There are thousands of people, most of whom are wearing red football shirts Our view of the pitch. Most of the photo shows the Forest end of Wembley. To the left, you can see a small section of Man City’s fans.
