Microstripe socks for #ShowMeYourKnits stripe week - these are two different yarns that matched so well I had to combine them!
1.5 knitted socks. They have a green-leaning teal main colour with a multicoloured contrast colour that has shades of blue-green, yellow, and pink. The socks have a 3:1 stripe ratio.

I finally finished knitting my starling inspired sweater and I’m pretty pleased with how it came out. (Details in alt text) 🧶 #knitting #knitsky #birdsky #starling
Split screen showing woman wearing a black hand knit sweater with cream and tan Vs in the yoke and the starling birds that inspired it.

More details:
After watching the starlings outside my window, I was inspired to make a sweater mimicking their plumage. I looked for a bottom up, round yoke pattern so the tan “V”s would be the correct direction. Ringle was it! - this means I used the pattern for basic shape but omitted the stripes of the original pattern. I just sort of winged it (pun intended 🐦‍⬛) when deciding where to put the Vs

A rare sewing project from me - made a regency inspired dress over the last few days! It has pockets! I got an olive green ribbon to go around the waist which gives the illusion of a higher waist, making it look a little more regency

She is also wearing a gold coloured necklace shaped like a fountain pen nib with a black ink drop.SB stands facing the camera wearing the same a knitted t-shirt and necklace, and holding an open copy of Pride and Prejudice to cover her face.SB stands facing away the camera wearing a blue and grey knitted t-shirt. 🦇 New research sheds light on how artificial lighting impacts long-tailed bat activity. From the teams at Waikato Uni, DOC, Auckland Uni, and Bioeconomy Science Institute—helping us better protect pekapeka as our nights get brighter. 🔦➡️🦇 #Pekapeka #NZBats link.springer.com/article/10.1...
New research: Amber light affects long-tailed bats’ activity less than cool white light, but more than darkness.

We found
- Most activity in dark.
- Least activity in cool white light.
- Amber was in between.

Management solution
- Keep dark places dark
- Use amber light (<< 2700K) if light is needed

Broke: I am scared that bats will get in my hair. Woke: I know that bats are highly sensitive flyers who actively avoid getting in people’s hair. Bespoke: I want bats to lift up my hair in braids and fly me through the air. 🦇 🦇 🦇 🦇
Full disclosure: I stole this image from my discover feed from a user who had quote posting turned off but who had also not included a description of the image in her otherwise informative alt text.

The image is a woman with her arms raised in a gothicky black dress with red tights and black shoes being lifted up by 4 bats carrying her by her black braids. The ground is Green with greenish rocks strewn about the background is orange-red.

The original alt info was: The painting is described as part of a series depicting women with magical powers, connected to vampires, witches, and other powerful creatures.
Dora Abodi merges Gothic illustration with baroque futurism in these portraits.
The set designs for her recent campaigns emerged organically from these paintings.

Original poster was an ivy with bluesky name of askylitocean
