I have a Big Ask from our community. Many of you will remember our graduates Pikachu and Eevee, who were adopted together. Eevee had dealt with some very challenging chronic diarrhea while she was a kitten, but before adoption, we figured out a food that worked for her & she was all better (thread)

Well, it finally happened. A driver doing a right turn hit me on my bike, in a bike lane. I'm physically ok. My spidey senses served me well; the driver wasn't signaling, but my gut said they might turn, so I slowed down and watched. Slammed on my brakes, so only light contact with my front wheel.

A few months ago I started wondering if not using LLMs for coding right now would be a detriment to me as a programmer, but I concluded that the idea is nonsensical. Questionable decision of the day: cycling the Humber trail 3 days after a biblical storm. A kind man helped me haul my bike over a downed tree, then I paid it forward by hauling another cyclist's bike over the other way. Plus a wide detour in a mud field and nearly bailing on some sand. #bikesky

I just started to read Margo’s Got Money Troubles, and as a very jaded reader, I admit that the author got me in the first paragraph.

Chapter One: You are about to begin reading a new book, and to be honest, you are a little tense. The beginning of a novel is like a first date. You hope that from the first lines an urgent magic will take hold, and you will sink into the story like a hot bath, giving yourself over entirely. But this hope is tempered by the expectation that, in reality, you are about to have to learn a bunch of people’s names and follow along politely like you are attending the baby shower of a woman you hardly know. And that’s fine, goodness knows you’ve fallen in love with books that didn’t grab you in the first paragraph. But that doesn’t stop you from wishing they would, from wishing they would come right up to you in the dark of your mind and kiss you on the throat.

If you have a pet that sometimes snags your clothes, or if you're clumsy like me, I've found Dritz Snag Nab It to be very useful. It's a needle with rough grooves on the tail end. Push the needle through the cloth and it'll pull the snag to the fabric's underside, where it will be hidden.

I know that millions are mourning and I want to say this - more than anyone I have ever known, Dolly will always be with us because she was so present, so powerful, so generous and playful that she is woven into all our lives and hearts forever. We have our memories of her, her songs, Dollywood, "9to5," the millions of books she got into the hands of children, all the iconic images that bring her to us. And they are all blessings.
