Courts have said we have a constitutional right to own firearms yet it feels someone who commits manslaughter or reckless discharge with a gun is more likely to lose their access to guns than someone who kills a family of four with a car losing their drivers license - a privilege. Make it make sense

After months and months of solicitations and extensions, @ddotdc.bsky.social has cancelled the solicitation for a new bus shelter agreement. I am very confused as the Director testified last week that this was moving forward. The expansion of shelters that bus riders needed are long overdue.

The same law means the Sanitation department has to do SEQRA (and CEQR) environmental assessment for every neighborhood where they want to put trash into containers which dramatically slows down rollout. An environmental assessment of the impact of putting trash in trash cans 🤷‍♂️

To put a slightly finer point to it: LLMs industrialized nonconsensual nudes. @santi4dc.bsky.social and I found in May that AI nudifiers make as much as $36 million/year. As with many other online harms, what X has done is shifted the Overton window to make more shitty behavior acceptable. (1/2)

New from me! After we reached out to the owner of these deepfake porn sites, they were removed offline and he deleted his socials. Each time a site goes down, it's a win for me. Hopefully this guy never tries to get them up and running again. Check out our investigation!

This was an amazing surprise to see yesterday. Arguably, the most popular platform for deepfaked non-consensual pornographic videos is being shut down! Good riddance, MrDeepFakes! Hopefully this will start a cascade of other sites being shut down?

This part is really critical. Mr Deepfakes was a hub for abusers teaching each other and collaborating as well as one of the first places I observed advertising for nudify apps. Sadly this is too little too late but I’m glad to see it.
