I'm confused by what is going on here. #comic #art #webcomic #comicoop

Panel 1: Pal says "So that old story about people eating spiders in their sleep was fake."

Panel 2: Buddy responds "Wait. I'm not suppose to eat spiders when I go to sleep?" Pal looks surprised by this statement.

Panel 3: Pal responds "Remind me to stop telling you things."

After seeing some fellow cartoonists chatting about the fediverse/Mastodon this morning, I was finally motivated to revive an old draft of mine! Added some newer data into it as well. ⭐ The Fediverse for Cartoonists (or: Slow Posting for Freaks) ⭐ blog.itsnero.com/the-fedivers...

My fourth font for the @cartoonist.coop Letterer Challenge 2026! This prompt was "Horror", as if that wasn't obvious! It has lots of alternate characters! You can download it here: chaseburns.itch.io/scrawling-da... #font #openfontlicense #lettererchallenge2026

an image displaying "Scrawling Darkly", a gritty comic book font.

there's a speech balloon that reads "Wanna hear how long I can scream? Aaaaaiiiiiiiieeeeeeee!!! Hold on, let me try that again..."

Made for the Cartoonists United Letterer Challenge 2026

another image displaying "Scrawling Darkly", a gritty comic book font.

Uses opentype ligatures to switch up side-by-side duplicate characters. Vowels have 4 alternates! Alts can also be picked manually, for variety.

Displaying this feature is a speech balloon that reads "Thiiisss iiisss hooow slowwlllyy I caaaaan taaallkk" and 4 "urgh!"s with different alternate letters.

Good for sound effects (Maybe even better than for dialogue…). Demonstrating this are stylized sound effects that reads "Splat", "Aaaiiieeee!!!", and "drip drip".

another image displaying "Scrawling Darkly", a gritty comic book font. this one displays all of the characters included in the font, with many alternates.

So there is a fake Comic Fury app in the google play store (see pictured). Don't download this, it's not real. The real Comic Fury site is not owned by the developer and there are no microtransactions. Please help Kyo, the real creator and owner of Comic Fury, by reporting its ass.

Screenshot of a "Comic Fury" app in the google play store by developer "StonePathDigital" that "contains ads" and "in-app purchases".

Aaand if you like to discover new comics, the range of comics on there is wide! Even if you don’t use it as a comic hosting site, I’ve seen people use it as an online sketchbook or artbook.

Comic fury is where I host my comics. You get to customise the comic homepage - even if you are not versed with HTML/JS/CSS, it has a pretty solid builder tool! And the community on there is pretty good. Forums are a breath of fresh air.

On potential suggestion to move over:

100

Saniko @santhewitch.quest · 23/09/2026

IDK if this is due to paypro pressure or something else, but this level of mass removal and automated (false) flagging should not be accepted. Wherever reason one might have to justify this is BS. We are talking about featureless 3D models and implications that a pose itself can be “sexual”.

120

Saniko @santhewitch.quest · 23/09/2026

I use CSP 3D models in my workflow so recent BS with the marketplace is sad to hear… while there are workarounds, and materials can be backed up, that’s not the point nor should be the point. If even featureless 3D models posed a certain way get sacked, where does that leave us with other stuff?

130

Saniko @santhewitch.quest · 23/09/2026

I’d like to use Krita, but it doesn’t fit my comic workflow like CSP does. I have procreate, same issue as Krita. All these are built for illustration, not for comics in mind. People make it work, sure, but def at the cost of come conveniences CSP provides.

020

Saniko @santhewitch.quest · 23/09/2026

“Move over” ignores the labour or getting used to a new piece of tech and setting it up to fit your workflow. For anyone doing anything commercially, that’s an expensive thing. Which is why many other Bad Apps still have users.

Saniko @santhewitch.quest · 22/09/2026

Maybe don’t read this update in front of your boss Or do They might be into it
