How the fuck are devs supposed to survive if making a successful, beloved live service game isn’t enough to keep them employed

I don't get it, man. You make one of the most successful LIVE service titles of the generation, despite the world telling you LIVE service is dead - and still get laid off? What are we even doing at this point

We're stoked to introduce the 'No Gen AI' seal for indie games! Indie devs can use it on their game's store page to assure potential players that their game was made without the use of Generative AI. You can grab it from the Polygon Treehouse website:- www.polygon-treehouse.com/no-gen-ai-seal

A graphical asset in the shape of a cog. It contains the following text 'This developer assures that NO GEN AI' was used in this indie game

A lot of people our age grew up in a world where doing an artistic job fulltime and live off it was certainly a challenge, but not the complete impossibility it is now, and it's very hard to just accept the world you wanted to live in has been destroyed on purpose by people who hate you.

don't hate-watch it, don't go see it to "see what it's like" if we keep rewarding these cheap films, made to circumvent unionized feature animators by exploiting non-unionized vfx animators- many of which ARE feature animators too- they're just going to make more, let's learn from Disney okay

Even physical games are bricked without PSN access if you need to pair a disc drive. This is why real physical media and disc drive access is vital. Welcome to the future - nobody owns anything, and all art and entertainment is disposable, temporary, and lost forever.

these designs I made for halloween a few years ago now always seem to go over well, so why not repost them 🤔

illstration of a goth witch character with a red spider theme, the inside of her jacket and underside of her hat have a red spider web pattern, she is flying on a broom and is carrying a pumpkin

design illustrations for what could be an action video game, a large anthropomorphic pumpkin with vine powers that wears a barn coat, a gothy witch with a red spider theme, and her fluffy black cat with only half a tail and a candy corn collar tag

Sixth astarion quick comic strip. Prints available(link in bio) Wanted to make a partner piece to my other nightmare comfort piece. Switched positions, now it’s astarion on top. I imagine tav would hold him and distract/soothe his mind from a nightmare by softly singing or smth else. #astarion #art

"The Witch, the Dragon and a Magic Quill" 🧙‍♀️🐉✨🪶 What story do you imagine in this painting? 🤔

A witch reading a spell book with a snow owl sitting next to her and autumn forest and a dragon on the background.

Part 5 of my affection themed tavstarion comic strips + drafts. Tav reassuring astarion that he did the right thing and him expressing his emotions through leaning into tav‘s hands plus the palm kiss. I think we all know astarion is actually a cat hehe. #art #astarion

This time I wanted to make smth soft. Smth where astarion smiles softly. Also wanted to get that ethereal lighting from some places in bg3 just right. It fits so well to this scene I have in my head. Them going somewhere and him wanting to hold hands. Inprnt in bio #astarion #art

love interactions where Tav is able to break through astarion‘s facade to show him that there’s more to a deeper connection, that he isn’t just wanted for his body. Just being. like to imagine tav would give him comfort cuddles after nightmares. Like a warm waterbottle to a vampire #astarion #art

Would have loved this as an option for tav when having this dialogue. I’d imagine astarion would love to sit for a drawing session regularly haha #art

A mermaid sits on some coral in a treasure filled grotto. She reads a barnacle-encrusted book.

Astarion meets elvira vibes. Love her promo shoots and wanted to draw the vibe for astarion (of course in the wavemother robe hehe). Put way to much time into this especially the background. Actually just wanted to sketch smth but it turned into a bit more #art

Another batch of astarion sketches/drafts. The emotional after ascension scene just got me. Drew tav with less details this time and also tried in a way that isn’t too masc or fem, so that others can imagine their tav here more easily. #art #astarion
