Dwarf Fortress co-creator Tarn Adams says he has no need for GenAI, because his artists are bursting with cool, weird ideas like meat biomes and sphincter doors. "[Tolkien] didn’t have a sphincter door. I mean, I don’t think he did… Who knows what’s going on in, like, Minas Morgul though."

27 Chaotic Minutes with Dwarf Fortress Creator Tarn Adams

Tarn Adams talks about Dwarf Fortress, his favourite bugs of the last 20 years, and why it's incredibly important to have a "meat biome"

lrp no excuse not to read it now. if my adhd ass can pile into a 7 person voice call twice a week for three hours each time to read it, you can do it solo a lot faster than the 9 months it took us

messy unfinished umineko sketch featuring maria and sakutorou sitting with ange, who is curled up and holding a book close to her.

more sketches: rosa, kanon and jessica with a beatrice (on low opacity) in the background. kanon is wanting out of this life tolerating jessica being pretty excited holding his hand.

coloured doodle of Lambdadelta and Bernkastel, with Lambda holding Bern from behind in an embrace.

Battler Learns the Box Step || #umineko

Battler and Beatrice are dancing together on a large chessboard. The board is covered in blood from unseen violence. Near their feet is a square marked out in blue making tape. The corners of the square are marked with "1", "2", "3", "4", although Beatrice's dress covers the "1". There are scattered pieces of evidence in the blood, namely a letter, a key, and a stake. The chessboard is surrounded by a rococo style frame on the bottom right and a curtain in the upper left/ top. On top of the curtain sits Bernkastel on the left and Lambdadelta on the right. They're watching the dancers and drinking from champagne flutes. Bernkastel sits with her head in her hands looking irritated. Lambadelta is laughing and raising her glass.

Between “Sex Purge Movie has no sex bc Sex Purge Movie director thinks sex is gross” and “Autistic person says they can’t look at cleavage or boobs in video games because of their autism” I fear we need to be even more aggressively pro-sex in media.

First impressions of Murderbot Diaries after a book and a half: I think this is the YA version of the kind of social commentary people were deluding themselves into thinking Detroit Become Human had done well. But like. Actually accomplishing it.

this sentiment is definitely applicable here

tumblr post by nurseleonedeactivated-deactivat

i think ppl would be a lot happier and better-adjusted on here if they realized that being online on a website is like being in any other casual public space full of people. if u walk into walmart u dont immediately think to yourself “i have to be friends with everyone in this walmart and if not everyone likes me i’m a failure” and u really shouldn’t feel that way online either. likewise if there’s a guy in the walmart parking lot shouting obscenities u probably wouldn’t answer him and that’s literally an exact equivalent to some of the weird stuff that people on here seem to feel they’re obligated to respond to.

Today is a great reminder that we can never be too ready.

A chart outlining the RIP BOZO Readiness Condition (RIPCON), which is a riff off of DEFCON. There are 5 levels, with 5 being lowest and 1 being the highest. The chart details descriptions of these levels, examples and actions to take in the event something occurs.

Have started the first several chapters of Acceptance with friends and we all agree Control and Ghost Bird should have bad sex. Not because Control deserves it or anything like that, but because it would be messy and awful and make them both indescribably worse and I want Control to suffer
