Day 20-Print #MakersmARTch #Art Look what I found! In the dusty spiderweb festooned corner of the garage I unearthed an old portfolio from my school days. Here is a print from my printmaking class. I remember bleeding a lot during this class. I’m glad the linoleum isn’t as hard to carve nowadays.

Day 18- Glass #MakersmARTch #Watercolor #Art Stained glass-ish. It is raining and all my joints hate me. It is embarrassing how long it took me to do this picture but making straight-ish lines and creating some kind of order feels good even if my hands are shaking. Maybe because they are shaking.

Day 14- #Clay #MakersmARTch #polymerclay I made this little friend years ago out of Sculpy. My son gave me a Gnomish buddy for him. Meet Pablo Pensando (a thoughtful guy) and Eddy. I love how Pablo’s expression changes based on lighting and angle. The pictures I took could tell a little story. 🤭

Day 12- #Ink #MakersmARTch I love this ink. If you are only writing with it it is a perfectly respectable gray but the moment you touch water to it the colors separate into a magical lavender with pink floating around the edges. The paper towel is fun. My rinse water was mesmerizing.

Every Kalash child is left with a dirty face, to avoid attracting unwanted spirit attention. The Kalash are known as the indigenous people of Chitral Pakistan, and their ancestors migrated to Chitral from Afghanistan in the 2nd century BC. #Pakistan #kalash

Four young Kalash children are sitting in front of their home. The Kalash people are an indigenous ethnic group residing in the remote valleys of the Chitral district in northern Pakistan, near the border with Afghanistan. They are known for their distinct culture, religion, and lifestyle that set them apart from the majority Muslim population of Pakistan. The Kalash have attracted considerable interest due to their unique traditions, language, and physical appearance, which are sometimes described as being more akin to ancient Indo-European groups than the other ethnicities in the region. The Kalash practice a form of animism and polytheism that includes a belief in multiple gods, spirits, and deities. Their religion is heavily tied to nature and agriculture, with many rituals and ceremonies dedicated to deities associated with water, the sun, and fertility. The Kalash people also believe in ancestral spirits and often perform offerings and sacrifices to ensure prosperity, good harvests, and the well-being of their community.

Ok, so here’s the results. The water lily potato didn’t really work out, I think I did it backwards 🤪 Next I tried a rose with the other one and started to get the hang of it near the end. Kinda like how that one turned out. #MakersmARTch #Carve #artisfun

Day 9- #Carved #MakersmARTch I stepped outside my comfort zone and made a thing! 🥳 Meet “OwlCat”. It started as a cat but the nose/beak gave me some trouble. My son has given me some great tips for block printing for next time. This was fun and I didn’t hurt myself so I will put it in the YES pile.
