More The Witcher 3 Remastered screens. At points the new lighting + path tracing makes it look like a whole new game. Still in White Orchard (the "tutorial" area) and performance is steady (DLSS ultra perf). I know it'll get worse, so enjoying it while I can 😅

Earlier this year, I thought about getting a new monitor. I was thinking OLED, but was undecided between 27" 1440p or 27"/32" 4K as I'd seen recommended so many times. After last night's Witcher 3 test, whenever it's time to upgrade, it'd definitely be a 27" 1440p OLED. No way I can 4K this one.

Tried The Witcher 3 Remastered and boy, does it look beautiful. Performance is odd, tho. Started a fresh game, RT + PT, DLSS Ultra Performance, no FrameGen: Stable 60. Loaded an old save in Toussaint: Mid 40s. Re-loaded the fresh game: 54? For my RTX4080 + AMD 7700x, it's taxing.

That was a blast. Seeing this movie again at the cinema, IMAX screen, every moment - the awesome, the memes - it was just so darned fun. "On your left" was EPIC. Again. And the new post-credit scenes (though one of them is an extended ending) were really cool.

Back in my day, video games came packed with an instruction manual full of awesome illustrations, a map of the world you were about to experience, a poster, ads for merch and sometimes even a mini-strategy guide for the early game experience!
