I had the best time collaborating with Aseela as we drew upon our epistemic friendship to write about Mumbai and Karachi, two cities with shared histories and governing logics, but that are seldom brought together in the discipline of urban geography. Do read our article: doi.org/10.1080/1360...

My first ever journal article has been awarded as a top-cited article of the year! While publication metrics are not the be-all and end-all in my field, it's nice to know that my work has resonated with other scholars. Special thanks to @areajournal.bsky.social for the great publishing experience.

My first ever citation!! My paper on caste-gender & street vending was referenced in this interesting EPC article by Elmond Bandauko & Godwin Arku. Glad to see others also echoing the call for more intersectional perspectives on street geographies! doi.org/10.1177/2399...

Highlighted quote in a journal article: Additionally, what is currently missing and urgently needed is "a critical, qualitative focus on the experiences of women street vendors, the gendering of vending spaces, and a socio-spatial analysis grounded in the Southern urban context" (Saxena, 2024: 2)

My read: "AI" is a fundamentally anti-worker technology 1) it demands de-skilling of workers for its long-term viability. White collar 'consumers' are asked to lower our standards and accept regurgitated slop as a substitute for the products of careful reading and synthesis.
