Today there’s a federal strike in Argentina to defend the public university. Specifically, to protest against the government refusing to comply with the law, which mandates a salary restoration (in 3 years the purchasing power of university salaries has gone down 50%). #12M
The picture is a composite of 4 drawings with text (seen on the Instagram account @soberaniamenstrual)

1 (upper left): an open window with the blue sky, the sun and some clouds (symbolising the Argentinian flag) and the phrase “public university is dangerous for those who don’t want their worlds to open up”.

2 (upper right): a pie chart acting as a floor in which 4 gentlemen with top hats stand on the little slice while 1 stands on the big slice; the phrase reads “public university is dangerous for those who wish that the world remains available for a few”.

3 (down left): a head mannequin with flowers and questions marks emerging from it as bubbles, reading “public university is dangerous for those who prefer certainties rather than questions”.

4 (down right): a stairwell leading to an open door with a night sky in the background, reading “public university is dangerous because it makes the impossible begin to seem possible”.

Introducing the Safe Abortion Calculator: an interactive tool that provides estimates of the health & economic impacts of expanding access to safe abortion care in LMICs. Use the Calculator to show how expanding access could reduce harm & ease pressure on health systems: gu.tt/42Ayj6A #SRHR
White text on a navy blue background reads, “Safe Abortion Calculator - A New Tool for Safe Abortion Advocacy. Calculate the health and economic impacts of expanding access in low- or middle-income countries. Build the case for investment in safe abortion care.” Below, navy blue text on a white background reads, “The Safe Abortion Calculator is an interactive tool that estimates the impacts of changes in the proportion of abortions that are safely provided within the health system in low- and middle- income countries. It is designed for advocates, policymakers, researchers and anyone interested in better understanding the impacts of expanding access to safe abortion care.” Next to that text is a bar chart showing the change in estimated abortion care costs in low- and middle-income countries with different investment in safe abortion care. Near the bottom of the graphic, white text on a violet background reads, “Use the calculator at guttmacher.org”
