These people love the whole "but it's brainlike" but never for a moment think that's an utterly unscientific claim without minimally some definition. Superficial appearances matching and this being seen as something deep is core pseudoscientific knowledge. More below.

this is so perfect as a phrasing "AI asks that you buy into the idea that more data means being closer to The Truth." I also explain this and take pains to really hammer home this is NOT EVEN TRUE in science, more data is NOT a better theory or account!

We are hiring next year in semantics- one year positions of course less exciting and good for the field than straight up tenure track postings, but on the other hand hiring in something that isn’t computational feels like a win anymore in linguistics. Come bring some innovative takes on meaning!

Just gonna say this again for games sphere cus we get the same question: Networking doesn't mean schmoozing up to famous people, it means making friends with your peers. Then in 10 years, 20, one of you might be famous? And sure you're still helping each other cus well yeah friends. Make. Friends.

Kit Fine is the Steve Reich of analytic philosophy (no, I will not be elaborating)
This suggests that the semantic connection on the sequence
D1, D2 . . . Dp, ft1t2 . . . tn, E1, E2, . . . , Eq should be determined on the
basis of the semantic connection on D1, D2 . . . Dp, f, t1, t2, . . . tn, E1,
E2, . . . , Eq (with ft1t2 . . . tn giving way, as before, to f, t1, t2, . . . , tn);
and d1, d2, . . . dp, b, e1, e2, . . . , eq will belong to the semantic
connection on D1, D2 . . . Dp, ft1t2 . . . tn, E1, E2, . . . Eq, i.e. ft1t2 . . . tn
will be capable of taking the value b when D1, D2 . . . Dp, E1, E2, . . . ,
Eq take the values d1, d2, . . . dp, e1, e2, . . . , eq, just in case,
for some individuals a1, a2, . . . , an for which b = f(a1, a2, . . . an),
t1, t2, . . . tn are capable of taking the values a1, a2, . . . an when
