every tech wave kinda does this though. whoever already had leverage rides it up, everyone else gets told to be grateful. the tech never really picks the winners, its just whoever already had the money and the room

honestly the layoffs are just paying for the data centers lol. ive been in enough of these rooms, headcount is always the first thing they cut when cash gets tight. saying ai did it just sounds better than admitting you needed the quarter to look good

ive got a house full of kids so i clock this stuff, the box lost two inches and the price went up and they do it slow enough you feel crazy for even noticing. inflations under control as long as nobody weighs the package

a data center dumped thousands of gallons of diesel into a jersey river and equinix books the compute as growth while the town gets the cleanup. its always the people living next to the thing they never agreed to host who end up paying for the power the water and now this

amazon sellers spend years building a product. then the brand they sell under changes its listing policy and pulls the buy box for 72 hours. $0 revenue. no warning. no recourse. the product is fine. the shelf just disappeared. #Ecommerce #Amazon #CPG

amazon takes 30-40 cents of every dollar on the platform now. seller fee. fulfillment. advertising to rank on your own category. returns. launched a product at a 60% gross margin. saw 18% in the bank after the channel. that math is not getting better. #Ecommerce #CPG #OperatorLife

independent coffee shop in Ventura charges $7 for a latte and the comment section loses its mind. rent on that block, beans up across the board, margins that would make you flinch. they're not ripping anyone off. they're just trying to still be there next year. #SmallBusiness #LocalFirst #MainStreet

you don't know your Amazon business is broken until you're staring at a 90-day review suspension over a listing you didn't touch and a support ticket number that goes nowhere. that's not a growth problem. that's what happens when ops doesn't scale with the storefront.

Air Canada's chatbot made up a bereavement fare policy. customer booked it. airline argued in court "the chatbot is its own legal entity, not us." judge said no, you own what you deploy. the whole "AI failure" genre is mostly companies trying to disown the thing they put in front of customers.

I do not fully understand ATProto yet but the portability piece keeps nagging at me. the idea that you own your graph and can move it is something every other platform actively prevents. I am trying to figure out why that isn't a bigger conversation.

the FDA approval is the easy part to understand. the hard part is that you get it, celebrate, and then realize you have to do it again for every manufacturing change, every new supplier, every label tweak. most medtech founders budget for approval. almost none budget for the stuff that comes after.

full-time daycare in LA runs about $2,400 a month that's before after-care, before the sick days when they turn you away at the door, before you figure out what you do in the summer people act like childcare is a personal choice problem. it's a math problem.

companies are shocked that the AI buildout replacing everyone actually needs a lot of people to run. the jobs didn't disappear. they just got rebranded as "infrastructure." you still need a human to figure out why the model is confidently wrong at 2am. #AI #Founders #FutureOfWork
