#adoptee Page 4 of the UK Nov 2024 case showed this up in judges language that is so honest about Adoption-delusion and still the 17 yr old was not granted a Revocation even though the Adopter agreed and Birth mother .. Labour interfered in the case. Pro-adopters you see.

Farage: "7.2 million foreign-born people have registered with GPs in the last 10 years... All I'm doing here is giving you cold hard facts". Well here's another cold hard fact - 40.6% of GPs in England and Wales are foreign born. The NHS would completely collapse without workers from abroad.

My advice to social workers would be to metaphorically take your eyes off the clock - to slow down, even when time in scarce. Because assessments and meetings will always be there, but you will never get the time with the child in front of you back.

I've just attended a lovely webinar with @elizafricker.bsky.social Processing And Exploring Our Experiences with Missing The Mark', these are my sketches about the isolation that can be felt when dealing with 'the system' and the difference #RelationalWorking can make..
Two bubbles, each with a person inside, the first lots of negativity words are trapped and being added to from the outside adding to the negative experience. The second bubble has a release valve and more positive words entering from the outside. The hand drawn sketch depicts a bubble that has been burst, lots of positiveessages and practical support are being offered, there is a sun, rainbow and pot of gold suggesting the individual has found the support they need

'contact' and mental health, 2 areas that are really important to me. There isn't enough awareness or support around the link between mental health and adoption. Adoption can massively impact on mental health & isolation, 'contact' is a tricky area to navigate and raises complex emotions for all!
