I love re-upping this: for decades the main library at UCLA had the generic name University Research Library because the person most responsible for getting it built was an English professor named Hugh G. Dick and the university refused to name it after him.

Hey #MedievalSky: I just got word that the panel I submitted for the @medievalacademy.bsky.social meeting next year in Toronto got turned down. This is not a gripe. It's evidence that even Fellows of the Academy have to continually compete. So use your rejections as fuel for something bigger/better.
