🔬Trusted partners in associated @horizoneu.bsky.social countries need day-one access to the next EU R&D programme to boost stable research collaborations. That's the message from the Russell Group, swissuniversities, Universities New Zealand & @u15ca.bsky.social in a letter to the EU Council.
Russell Group Policy Manager Douglas Dowell said:

“Universities have worked hard to help researchers make full use of the UK’s association to Horizon Europe. Restoring participation to previous levels remains challenging, but we are now seeing UK successes, including in the ERC, that are delivering economic and scientific benefits for the UK and our EU partners.

“We want to build on this in the next Framework Programme. Uncertainty about the UK’s long-term position, and that of other associated countries, makes this harder. Early political agreement on allowing trusted partners to take part in an open, research-led FP10 from day one, would provide certainty and help avoid the disruption to R&D we saw in 2021-23."
