I like a lot of things about this paper, but one of its special features is that it’s from the future: published in December 2026 apparently 🙃 Great stuff from Paul Baker, as usual www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

Another interesting study on readers’ letters. Keisuke Yoshimoto looks at readers’ letters (on “Women’s Feelings” and “Men’s Feelings”) of a Japanese newspaper and finds clear gender differences. #CADS2026

Really interesting presentation by Benedict J.L. Rowlett on the analysis of readers’ letters on gender and sexuality in the South China Morning Post. Good to know some diverse past voices from citizens on LGBT+ topics. #CADS2026

Selenia Anastasi and Federica Formato are presenting a CADS study of an Italian Incel forum. Interesting to see how Southern Italy, particularly, is discursively constructed with clear gendered patterns. Also very great to know a bit about the manosphere in Italy. #CADS2026

Daria Dayter @coocho.bsky.social is presenting her research on how “influencer” is used and discussed during three waves of migration to BlueSky. It’s really good to know much about the concept of “influencer” and platform affordances of Bluesky. #CADS2026
