MWP 1 - The Methuselah Nebula captured from my patio on eleven short summer nights in July and August 😊🔭 This was shot on the EdgeHD 8 for a total integration time of about 40 hours in mono with Ha and OIII narrowband filters and combined with RGB stars. #Astrophotography
The Methuselah Nebula is an exceptionally large ancient bipolar planetary nebula and therefore it’s very faint. Despite the long integration time the signal was very weak and noisy so processing this object was quite challenging!

MWP1 is located in the constellation of Cygnus at an estimated distance of about 4,500 light years away from Earth.

47 Tucanae or 47 Tuc (in LRGB). Astrophoto by Beatrice Heinze (Processing) & Telescope Live (Data).

After Omega Centauri, it is the second brightest globular cluster in the night sky.

To some, star clusters may seem boring and easy to photograph or process, but don’t be fooled. It’s very easy to ruin the core by overexposing or overprocessing it.

However, if you zoom in on the core, you can see that the stars in the center are still fairly well preserved. While processing this globular cluster, I kept a close eye on it to make sure I maintained its integrity.

I used the following software: Astro Pixel Processor (stacking) and PixInsight (processing).

Telescope: Planewave CDK24 (24 Inch/61cm)

Location: El Sauce Observatory, Rio Hurtado valley, Chile (Southern Hemisphere) => Bortle Class 1

Total exposure time: 4hours 3 minutes.

Clear Skies!

🌌 ESA’s Euclid has captured the largest, most detailed photo ever made of our Milky Way's center in visible light! Taken in just 26 hours, this stunning mosaic reveals a crowded galactic heart packed with over 60 million stars, nebulas, and star clusters. ✨ #Space #Euclid 1/4
A dense field of tiny, closely packed points of light fills the image. Most of the background is bright yellow and gold. A broad, irregular dark band runs diagonally across the centre, forming connected black and dark-brown patches. Brighter clusters of pale yellow and white points appear above and below this dark band, with a few slightly bluish points scattered throughout.

Credit: ESA/Euclid/Euclid Consortium/NASA, CFHT, image processing by J.-C. Cuillandre and E. Bertin (CEA Paris-Saclay)On 23 March 2025, Euclid captured this enormous photo in just about 26 hours. It’s a mosaic of nine ‘pointings’ from its visible light camera [1], with each pointing covering a patch of the sky larger than the full Moon.

No less than 60 million stars in one image. It's possible thanks to ESA's Euclid mission. For just one day, Euclid turned its gaze to the crowded heart of the Milky Way and captured the largest, most detailed photo ever taken of our galaxy's centre in visible light. Let's dive deeper 👇 🔭 🧪 ☄️ 1/8
A dense field of tiny stars fills this square image taken by the European Space Agency’s Euclid space telescope. The lower and central areas are dominated by bright yellow and gold colours, forming a textured background similar to fine glitter or sand. Dark brown and black patches cut irregularly through the yellow regions, like ink stains or clouds of smoke. Toward the upper left, the colours shift to purple and reddish tones, blending gently into the surrounding star field. Small blue points of light are scattered across the image.
