#Rachel is expected to approach the coast of the northern Baja CA Peninsula and extreme Southern CA at tropical storm strength Saturday night. Tropical storm conditions are expected over portions of western Baja California, Mexico where Tropical Storm Warnings are in effect.

National Hurricane Center forecast for Tropical Storm Rachel, issued October 9, 2026, at 2 PM PDT. Rachel has maximum sustained winds of 45 mph and is moving northeast at 7 mph. The storm is forecast to move northeast toward the Baja California Peninsula, then weaken while approaching southern California and Nevada over the weekend. Tropical storm warnings are indicated along portions of Baja California, with tropical storm watches along nearby coastal areas. The forecast cone represents the probable path of the storm's center, and hazardous conditions can occur outside the cone.

It appears to me that the scenario they invented for this evaluation is explicitly designed to get it to do exactly this. They remove the instructions for the task to "protect the vendor" or something but it's pretty easy to reconstruct from the text.

the threads activity is useless (IMHO) but honestly the bluesky numbers look realistic. Most people I interacted with on here peeled off and mostly just dropped social media entirely or went back to reddit. With discord being for interacting with friends.

Yeah DNT doesn't actually do anything, its voluntary to support it, there's no standards for how to respond to the header. Hell Google gives you the option in Chrome and ignores it. They're all still tracking you everywhere.

The best talk I ever gave was just screen shots of visual studio and hex editors I talked over. People vastly over value graphical quality for talk slides. Unless, as you said, you're trying to get a suit to give you money; then you need to get someone to make pretty graphics. But not AI obviously.

I'm not going to write 100 of these to explain it all out in skeets. But the main thing is that the shortage is real. And the shortage is more than consumer, AI is fucking everything right now. Expect everything from cars to medical devices to climb in price over the next year. HBM has narrow use.

Chip manufacturing is complicated and there are only 3 companies that do it for RAM. Consumer has always been RAM's second focus, Crucial was getting shut down either way. Its too complicated for skeets, but tl;dr AI bought 100% of the production capacity because industrial is the preferred client.

its not made out of plastic, they're sugar or starch and food coloring. Some of them are metal flakes or mica, inert edible metals like silver and gold. But they're never made of plastic. Its food, it has a food label. But yes its a terrible idea for clicks.

most places already do something like this, its why suburbs get built with the same 4 plans stamped around. But land grading varies from area to area wildly, as does soil, so you have to re-vet the building plans for the new building location. These reviews exist for safety.

even before AI this was a problem. I have seen so many things almost ship because they were placeholders that were too good. We got used to them but they would have stood out on release and been extremely ugly. Or in a couple cases a copyright problem (legal for use not for ship)
