NEW / HUGE: Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama sued nearly three dozen abortion pill providers + a pharmacy and The states asked the Supreme Court to be able to sue New York, Massachusetts, and California to challenge their telehealth shield laws @autonomynews.co storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
Dear Mr. Cayce:
I write to notify the panel of two legal developments material to the
panel’s resolution of this case.
First, today Louisiana—joined by Arkansas and Alabama—filed a
lawsuit in the Western District of Louisiana against nearly three dozen
individuals and entities responsible for remotely dispensing FDA-
approved mifepristone in Louisiana, Arkansas, and Alabama. See
Louisiana v. Nouhavandi, No. 2:26-cv-03836 (W.D. La.) (attached). As
the complaint in that case illustrates, none of those individuals and
entities could carry out their current operations without the 2023
REMS’s removal of the in-person dispensing requirement.
Second, also today Louisiana—joined by Arkansas and Alabama—
filed a motion for leave to file a bill of complaint (attached), Louisiana v.
New York, in the United States Supreme Court against New York,
Massachusetts, and California. The bill of complaint challenges the
telehealth shield laws of those states on various legal grounds.
Both complaints explain how Louisiana’s success in Louisiana v.
FDA will eliminate the flood of FDA-approved mifepristone into the
State. Louisiana’s success in Louisiana v. Nouhavandi will eliminate the
2
ability of nearly three dozen of the most prominent actors to illegally send
any abortion drugs into the State. And Louisiana’s success in Louisiana
v. New York will strip all shield-law state residents—regardless of any
back-up drugs they may try to use—of the claimed authority to violate
Louisiana’s laws with impunity.
espectfully,
/s/J. Benjamin Aguiñaga

“It’s not ALL men.” None of the 50+ men the Cornell rapists invited to come join them in raping a woman they’d drugged went to the authorities or tried to stop it. Not all men would rape an unconscious woman, but where are the men who’d try to stop it, or EVEN FUCKING OBJECT?

There‘s much to appreciate in Mamdani, but his insistence that culture isn’t a privilege of the rich is one of his strengths. It is reminiscent of how unions and the government treated it in the 1930s -art for the masses - paintings, music, opera, theater - democracy for all.

something traumatizing happened to me yesterday and so many of my friends have literally saved my life in the intervening ~30 hours, and it gives me the strength not only to fight for my own life but also to continue fighting for others who might feel similarly desolate or marginalized or abused

the first week that i moved to NYC from Alabama at age 18, what surprised me most wasn't seeing someone shitting on the sidewalk in broad daylight, or hopping on public transit & easily accessing world class art/music, but the fact that the vast majority of ppl i met did not follow college football

A new report finds that most abortion patients can’t afford care amid the cost-of-living crisis. Abortion funds are seeing an increase in clients as their own resources dwindle, and many clinics are offering large discounts to help patients get care—which means absorbing financial losses.

kendra was a true role model. & on a personal note: she was so kind to me during one of the absolute worst periods of my life, when i was trapped in the quicksand of harassment, hospitalization, & bureaucratic hell. she believed me, believed in me, stood by me... not sure where i would be w/out her.

again, these are literally Nazi tactics!! these are Nazis!! and Democrats will say it's too unpopular to speak up against this
Identification

Due in part to the inherent difficulty in identifying transgender people who can pass as their preferred gender, as well as identifying gender non-conforming people who may conform when in public, the Nazi government relied heavily on repor... g by private citizens (often neighbors) to persecute transgender people.[861[87|[67] A widespread belief in Germany at this time held that transgender people were inherently deceitful, as they lived their lives "in disguise", which motivated some Germans to denounce them to the Nazi government.

yoooooo... ten years (!) after I first started formulating the concepts of "gendered sonic violence" and "sonic patriarchy," an updated version of my 2016 essay "Gendered Sonic Violence, from the Waiting Room to the Locker Room" has been included in an anthology now available from NYU Press

Gendered Sonic Violence, from the Waiting Room to the Locker Room
REBECCA LENTJES
Revisiting this essay, originally written in October 2016, has been a jarring reminder of the United States' rapid descent from a landscape where reproductive health care was legal, but often inaccessible, into one where roughly 30 percent of women ages fifteen through forty-nine live in states where abortion is banned. The aftermath of Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization demonstrates how Donald Trumps sonic Patriarchy, emblematic of the far right's utter disdain for women, was ominous (yet glaring) foreshadowing for the changes Trump's admin istration has wrought in the years since. Despite the insistent alarm bells-frequently dismissed as "shrill" overreactions-sounded by reproductive rights scholars and activists such as myself, Trump's election was a catalyst for sweeping attacks on bodily autonomy that have contributed to our current conditions of reproductive oppression.
In August 2016, amid the pandemonium surrounding Donald Trump's first presidential campaign, professional "pick-up artist" Dan Bacon caused a stir with his article "How to Talk to a Woman Who Is Wearing Headphones." Bacon's site, The Modern Man, pledges to "make [a woman] want to have sex with you ASAP." Bacon offers step-by-step
"instructions" for pick-up artists to overcome the obstacle of being rendered inaudible by the music a woman might be listening to:

for the first time in two and a half years, a new note was played in this organ performance today!
Organ²/ASLSP (As Slow as Possible) is a musical piece by John Cage.[1]

An organ in St. Burchardi church in Halberstadt in 2001 began a performance that is due to end in 2640. This makes it the longest running non-computerized piece currently being performed.
