@eofftv.bsky.social & @bunnydarke.bsky.social I liked the soapy element of Countess D and I blame Mike and Stacey: I’m currently watching Twin Peaks for the first time, so I’ve been radicalised! Dubbing Ingrid Pitt is unforgivable though, and a they definitely should have included blood bathing.

...of the recent films we've seen this one felt like such a relief. Maybe if I wasn't watching them in such quick succession I might have liked it less?

I can see how you might find it dull, the pacing really dips through the middle. However, I liked Ingrid Pitt, I liked the themes it explores and I liked the effects. I also liked the fact that there was no 'hero', just an ineffctual but fairly likable fop (who dies). I also think that after some...

Looking at Letterboxd, I obviously liked this more than @bunnydarke.bsky.social, and a hell of a lot more than @eofftv.bsky.social. Looking forward to finding out where I went wrong! 😂😂

Despite some pacing issues, a needlessly misleading title, and a continuation of Hammer's obsession with Belly Dancing, I really enjoyed Countess Dracula. Four stars for me. Looking forward to finding out what @bunnydarke.bsky.social and @eofftv.bsky.social think of it in tomorrows Hammer Time.

To be fair Ripley has developed an irrational and violent hatred for the Grey Squrrel that visits our garden. WHO RADICALISED HER? That's what I want to know.

The main reason I couldn’t get bored while watching was because it was very hard to become bored while experience such irritation. He goes from insufferable git to self-absorbed predatory git. It’s not much of an arc!

@bunnydarke.bsky.social @eofftv.bsky.social I Loved this weeks discussion. This weeks film is a stinker (though I found it more entertaining that Horror of Frankenstien). I'm wondering, do you both think that we are supposed to be sympathetic towards Lestrange?

I’m half way through Lust for a Vampire: it’s entertaining and silly. Quite a dark story too! If Le Strange ends up being the hero I’ll be disappointed- he’s a smarmy sexual predator (which is apparently ok because he’s good looking!). @bunnydarke.bsky.social @eofftv.bsky.social

A large crowd turned out for an impromptu performance from the Mary Wallopers on Garvaghy Road this afternoon. Their appearance comes after Beoga joined musicians playing at a protest against the planned Orange Order march in Portadown, Co Armagh last night. jrnl.ie/7178719

🦔 Hedgehogs travel long distances each night — but fences and walls cut their routes short, stopping them reaching vital habitat. 🧱 The fix is simple: add 13cm x 13cm square holes in fences to create Hedgehog Highways linking gardens so ‘hogs can roam freely! 👉 buff.ly/O0EAlio

I really enjoyed this weeks Hammer Time with @bunnydarke.bsky.social & @eofftv.bsky.social. What really struck me was that, apart from the grave diggers, I didn't even realise that Horror of Frankenstien was going for comedy! Now, do I blame Autism, or Sangster?

Horror of Frankenstein wasn't terrible. More like a cheap TV adaptation not a Hammer film. It really fails with the pacing, everything that happens once the creature shows up, and the terrible ending. Pointless and irriating, though entertaining at times. @bunnydarke.bsky.social @eofftv.bsky.social

Yesterday under a very thin veil, Reform councillors brought a motion to council to attack another marginalised community. Gypsy, Roma and the Travelling community already face discrimination at all levels of society. Instead of demonising them we need solutions.

Last Hammer Time post of the day, I promise! Scars of Dracula is dull. By far the worst Hammer Dracula film. Lee clearly doesn't want to be there. The bat manages to be both the best and worst thing in the whole film, which is kind of impressive. @bunnydarke.bsky.social @eofftv.bsky.social
