At most events on TB or HIV like this one for World TB Day, most speakers talk about their memories of how horrific the 80s and 90s were for these diseases in particular. Now with the massive aid cuts, there is clear fear of going backwards to anything close to those days

In wasn't long ago that the UK committed to global efforts to end TB by 2030 as part of the TB political declaration. These efforts are already falling massively short of what's needed; this gap will only get much much worse in the face of these cuts

In our projects like in Uzbekistan, we are already seeing people with forms of TB that are resistant to almost all medicines, including newer drugs like Bedaquiline.

These cuts will have a catastrophic impact on TB services, especially in fragile and conflict-affected settings where MSF works. MSF has been involved in providing TB care for over three decades, treating more than 22,000 people each year.

Update on measles in Texas: The child who died was unvaccinated & had no underlying conditions before measles. 127 of 159 cases are in kids <18yo, whose parents mainly decided not to protect them with vaccines. 154 of 159 cases were unvaccinated or vaccination status unknown. 22 hospitalized.
