Listen, goals are like eggs, okay You eat the eggs and then your skillset gets longer, and your skillset at some point lowkey kind of starts getting in the way

#Blender pro tip: Never use the default cube. It has been sitting there for a while and has most likely gone stale. Delete it and create a fresh one.

Ridley the Space Pirate has been gifted a massive orange orb and honestly not now massive orange orb
It's the image of Pope Leo being presented with a massive green orb, but instead of Pope Leo, it's Ridley the Space Pirate from Metroid. He looks on anxiously as he is presented with a massive orange orb, which is clearly his arch nemesis Samus in her Morph Ball form.

I did like Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey but I did think there were some glaring omissions Like Cappy and the bit with the giant t-rex

I agree! I think it would be more honest to not add them to a unified timeline Breath of the Wild & Tears of the Kingdom are basically a reboot and don't really connect to anything else And chances are that whatever game comes next doesn't even connect to those either

Roy Theunissen @roytheunissen.com · 11/09/2026
Yeah I do agree with you there Ocarina of Time was explicitly meant to be a prequel and of course Skyward Sword was meant to come first There's a few games you can string together without any problems but it's still not really meaningful Almost all of these games are in every respect standalone
011
Roy Theunissen @roytheunissen.com · 11/09/2026
I think the split after Ocarina shows that it doesn't *really* matter Does it matter if the Wind Waker Ganondorf is the same as Ocarina of Time? It's not the same Link or Zelda anyway. And Ganondorf is constantly dying and reincarnating anyway, what does it matter if in this one he did or didn't?

They never cared about making it a consistent and cohesive whole, and there's no need to retroactively try and make it that By all means, enjoy and map out all the fun references and homages but we don't need to pretend there was ever a grand plan behind it all

Roy Theunissen @roytheunissen.com · 11/09/2026
In my opinion Breath of the Wild referencing the Temple of Time connects it to Ocarina of Time about as much as the portrait of Mario connects Ocarina of Time to Super Mario 64. It's just a fun homage

My Zelda hot take is that with a few exceptions like Ocarina of Time -> Majora's Mask, every Zelda game was designed in isolation and is therefore chronologically unconnected

Hello~ I’m Nicole a.k.a. “Aortic Inkwell” I’m an artist that loves to draw sad dreamy elves and silly plague doctor comics. Check the link below for other platforms I’m active on as well as ways to support my work~ ✨ aorticinkwell.carrd.co ✨ #Art #Commission #OC #Illustration
Five separate sample illustrations that describe me as an artist. Top left: a shy elf hiding behind the fur trim of their robe. Bottom left: a curious beaked creature. Middle: a horned and winged fiery prince looking to the viewer. Top right: an elf languishing in the snow. Bottom right: a magician floating midair as they cast a spell.

the mat_phong rimlights on TF2 characters were added during the production of Meet the Heavy. an artist decided to paint rim lights over a production still, and they liked the effect so much that they immediately wrote its shader code it's why trailers 1 and 2 don't have it, but Meet the Heavy does

A New Color (1/5🧵)
Page 1: A man is walking home, smoking a cigarette, being quietly trailed by a UFO above him. As he enters his apartment, two aliens watch from inside the ship. Alien 1, who has a large head, says, “that’s him. Let’s move.” Page 2: The man walks upstairs as the aliens watch from the entrance of the building. The man enters his apartment and greets his little dog. Suddenly there is a knock at the door.Page 3: he peers through his peephole, and sees the two aliens standing in the hallway. Alien 1 is holding a briefcase. From behind him, the voice of alien one: “don’t scream.” Page 4: The aliens are seated across the room on the man’s couch. Sadie is in her bed next to them. Alien 1 says, “you’re not in any danger. Have a seat.” The man looks at his dog and thinks, “sadie is unusually calm.” Alien 1: don’t scream, or it’s a problem.

Ooh Barotrauma is an interesting case. Proximity chat, working together, spooky vibes. Has a lot in common with Lethal Company But I guess the survival aspect of the gameplay is actually really deep, and the focus is more on that than "goofing around with friends"? So maybe not a "proxchatter" 🤔

Roy Theunissen @roytheunissen.com · 06/08/2026
But why would we define the whole genre by that implied lack of polish? That's not inherent to the genre, right? I don't think it applies to Peak for instance
000
Roy Theunissen @roytheunissen.com · 06/08/2026
I honestly like that better. Games like Peak and Lethal Company clearly have a lot of love put into them, I wouldn't put that in the category of "thoughtless formulaic output" that "slop" implies

That is beautiful! Might be my pareidolia at work but I cannot help but see a mischievous little guy in her airbending master tattoo
Avatar Sonam's arrow-shaped forehead tattoo vaguely resembes the face of a guy with very long vertical eyebrows, long pointy sideburns, and a wide, wicked grin with 2 teeth.
