I only started reading historical romance seven years ago for ghostwriting purposes and found it really helped with my anxiety. My kindle is full of that while my shelves are full of SFF.

Today I only wrote about 500 words in my fake marriage criminal novel. It’s feeling a little clunky so it’s not moving well. I should probably go for a 9pm writing session just to get through the clunk so I can start tomorrow fresh. Clunkless.

I have a sci fi wip with a kitty named Nyx Lady of the Void and she’s able to communicate with a sentient space station. She’s not a pov character but it’s because she’s not so sure communicating with humans is worth her time. She’ll stick to space stations.

The best way I’ve found to make writing easy is to write every day. I know that feels burdensome to some people but a daily writing habit sets up a routine so I don’t fight my mind and body to get to work. I just sit down at the regular time and my internal clock says it’s time to write.

Nope. I’m not watching again. I did that last time and the only thing it did was literally make me sick. I’m starving narcissists of attention and focusing my life on creating hope and joy where I am. We deserve happiness no matter how often we’re told we’re nothing but objects to be used.

Today I wrote 2748 words for a total of 15646 words in my sci fi romance about a couple of criminals on the lam from their pirate captain while hiding on a sentient station as a fake married couple of farmers. Its working title is Double Trouble. Sci fi romance you see. Fake relationship ftw.

I’ve set my own challenge to write this new book and it’s basically a double nano over two months. For 100k words. Hoping to finish the whole book. I don’t know if I’ll manage it but I know how these challenges work and I’ve set up my pacemaker plan and am on track after four days.

Ten. Our house is big or we couldn’t. The four old guys are slowing down. The feral only comes around for food. The last four were found by my daughter. Cat jobs are mostly split between my mom and daughter. We rescued one before that and he was sick and died. Told my daughter no more finding cats!

I get it. We have ten now including our feral and the last rescue. The first four are getting old now (the kittens from the pregnant cat my mom rescued many years ago) and we said it was too many cats but oh well

I get like that when anxiety hits. It sucks. The only thing that’s better than night time insomnia is you don’t have the possibility of more sleeplessness and you can just get up and start the day.

We were unable to find homes for our three orange rescue kittens. But then it didn’t take too long before we fell in love and didn’t want to give them up. So we stopped looking.

Don’t beat yourself up if you can’t maintain your personal goal word counts everyday. Life gets in the way. Instead of looking for perfect numbers go with the flow and write more on those days you have time/energy/inspiration and less on slow days. You aren’t a machine.

You never know it could happen. I always liked to cook and did a lot more gourmet stuff before I had kids and thought it was fun. Even when you’re not a professional learning to cook is a great skill.
