Tell me your childhood obsessions! When I was a child, I was obsessed with so many things. What were your obsessions? Tell me in the comments! Did you share any of my childhood fixations? If so, you might like my books! Not My Sister comes out March 4th, pre-order here: geni.us/B0G1K5LC13au...
Picture of a child holding a toy burger. Text reads: Tell me your childhood obsessions! When I was a child, I was obsessed with...Freddie Mercury: One night when I was about six I couldn’t sleep so I went downstairs, where I found my parents watching the Freddie Mercury tribute concert. They let me stay up and watch the whole thing (a big treat), and I fell in love...The Famous Five: Adventures, picnics, secret tunnels, hidden rooms, long-lost treasure... I couldn’t get enough. Ghosts: I really believed in ghosts and was convinced that our house was haunted. See also: Bermuda triangle, vampires, the Mary Celeste, and the Loch Ness monster.

I understand the pressures on the BBC, but Radio 4's coverage of the Minneapolis shooting is an example of "bad balance". It's all "the Trump regime says she was a terrorist, but Democrats say it was murder". The BBC has the footage. It doesn't have to treat truth and falsehood as equally valid.

🚨Calling all writers !🚨 Writing is hard and lonely and scary! And though there are lots of great editorial services something that’s missing is the ability just to chat things through with someone. Plotting issues, publishing advice, how to start writing a book 1/2

Somehow I've managed to arrange my life so that my car insurance, home insurance and road tax all need to be arranged and paid at the same time. It's an admin nightmare but at least it all gets done at once, I suppose?

Screenshot of a book review:
From the moment I picked this book up, I was hooked. I had a hard time putting it down. I even stayed up late reading and I thought I had the twist figured out but the author surprised me multiple times.

I’d highly recommend this book to anybody who loves thriller books especially ones that have twists that make you scream , “WHAT?!”

The story was a real good one, you didn’t know what was happening due to the twists making it so fast- paced I loved it!

I just LOVE books when they make you think, and then you change your mind on the characters my favourite one was Maeve originally then it switched again! The ending was one word: WOW!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ from me!

I'm listening to the audiobook of The Lost Passenger by @franquinn.bsky.social and it's brilliant! A wonderful historical fiction novel about a woman who survives the sinking of the Titanic and grasps an opportunity to start a new life. Highly recommended! Fantastic narrators too.

What things do you do so regularly that they're automatic, but to others they might seem strange? Mine are: 1) I always "cheers" my first sip of an alcoholic drink. 2) I try to get a little bit of everything onto my fork so each mouthful contains my whole plate

I'm re-plotting a book right now. For me (a planner) this is the stage before I start drafting, but I find it really tricky to hold a whole book in my head and make sure every chapter is in the right place. It feels like I'm making very slow progress. Any tips for novel planning?

Happy St Patrick's Day to everyone who celebrates! And by celebrates I mean 'drinks Guinness, preferably in a free hat or novelty sunglasses'. On my most memorable St Paddy's Day I witnessed a police car chase and a big crash outside the pub. I was wearing a green Guinness hat at the time.

We are experimenting with a screen-free week for my four-year old this week. I didn't expect a big revelation, but so far it's so nice: her behaviour is better, her sleep is better (sleeping until 6.30 instead of 5.30 👍), and we're doing so many fun activities in the evenings instead of TV time. 🥰

Last night before bed I went into my daughter's room to check on her and tuck her in. She was lying on her back, snoring lightly with her arms up by her head. I watched her for a moment, listening to her breathing before whispering 'good night'. What a privilege it is to get moments like that.

Do you ever have one of those days where everything goes wrong? Yesterday was one of those: everything felt off and I just wanted to reset the day. Instead I went to get some shopping and dropped my phone and shattered the screen beyond repair, making the day even worse. Today is better.
