So friends What do you do when a book doesn’t pull you in, two nights I’ve not reached for it. I do like it but just not enough to automatically reach for it. Persist? Or move on? Or have a break with something else and come back to it?

THE ISLAND OF MISSING TREES Book Review 📚 Right. I’m find this one hard to explain There’s a film, Encanto, it’s a nice film. But it hit hards to one specific group of people…children of immigrants. Indeed I spoke with one of the production crew who said this was exactly the intention…1/

BUTTER Book Review 📚 Ah man… what can I say about this book. First it took me a little while to get started, but by the time I got about 20% of the way in it was a ‘couldn’t put down’ situation Without ruining the book, the various topics she interlaces and the little literary interludes…1/

I haven't drilled down on the details of this survey. But even as anecdotal evidence of economic assumptions, it is clear that "relative deprivation" theory needs to be understood alongside a new "bubble" of economic expectations that will never be reached by most of us. www.cnbc.com/2024/11/22/s...

A graph showing the salary level at which members of certain generations would feel successful

Here’s the average salary older adults said would make them feel successful:

Gen Z: $587, 800
Millennials (ages 28 to 43): $180,865
Gen X (ages 44 to 59): $212,321
Baby boomers (ages 60 to 78): $99,874

Top three ortho pearls for non-orthopods: 1. Orthogonal (perpendicular) radiographs of a joint are a best practice. 2. X-rays and adequate history + exam should come before an MRI. 3. Surgeons operate on patients not pictures. Patients rarely "need" surgery because of a finding on imaging.

Some may have wondered why I was so quiet on Twitter Honestly, because I’ve been so busy. I am an advocate for women in surgery, but I never said it was easy I measured my goals and priorities and decided I needed to get my head down & drive hard toward the end, for my sanity! I’m so close now 🙏🏻
