"I just think, if you're going to require an exam, you should give a study guide," Annette said. "Otherwise, how am I supposed to know what I'm being tested over?"
"Hm," Felix agreed.
She was walking alongside Felix on a planter that was only a few inches off the ground, but she wobbled every few steps. It made Felix nervous, but he kept his hands to himself. Last week she'd called him "chauvinistic and overbearing" because he'd offered to carry her books to class.
"Lysithea got a passing grade on her first try, of course," Annette said. "But she won't tell me what was on the exam. I asked her twice."
"She's just jealous," Felix said.
"Of what?" Annette said. "She knows Dark Spikes now, did I tell you that? I barely can cast a basic level offensive spell, and she's already moved on to advanced."
Felix was sort of listening, he really was. But Annette's head had lined up exactly with the dogwood tree behind her. Maybe it was because she was a few inches taller than normal. The pink flowers looked nice against her hair, Felix thought. Did pink and red go well together, usually? He wasn't sure. They looked nice now.
Felix reached out and plucked a flower off the dogwood tree. He handed it to Annette, cutting her off mid-sentence.
"And if I don't catch up this year, I'm never going to -oh! What's this?" she asked.
Felix shrugged. "Looks nice with your hair," he said.
Annette stared at it, open mouthed, for a good few seconds. Then she hopped off the planter and stared up at Felix.
"You weren't even *listening*, were you?" she said. "Youre the worst sometimes, Felix! And I'm late to choir practice."
She turned and ran before he could apologize. He wouldn't have, either way, but she didn't even give him a chance.
But on the other hand, she took the flower with her.
She was a confusing girl.

A comic about Felix and Annette (Fe3H)

During the night, Annette is restless. She has an high fever due a small amount of poison still in her body.
She toss and turn but she doesn't want to ask any help.
However there is a certain person she'd love to see at her side.

Annette (monologue):
I got shot by a poisened arrow during last battle.

Told to both Mercie and the Pofessor it wasn't a big deal.

I removed the poison swiftly. I'm a big girl and I won't complain.

I know you can't be here... You will come back in a couple of days.

Close up on Annette expressions, still feverish, suddendly she seems more relaxed and a little bit ecstatic.
With a dazed vision, she belives that the man she see at her side (Felix) is just a feverish allucination.

Annette (monologue):
So... Am I being selfish if I want you to be here?
Aaaaah must be the fever.

We know see her POV.

There is Felix who is laying by her side on the ground, he is dirty like he travelled with a horse for days withouth taking a break.
He seems sad to see her in pain.

He doesn't utter a word, just blushes slightly, illuminated by the moonlight when she looks at him.

Annette (monologue):
You can't be here.
But alas it was a good dream.

Her mind still doesn't belives that any of that can be true and she softly touch his lips with her finger.
We jump a little forward in time and we see Ann's expression more relaxed.
Her "dream" had a soothing effect on her and the fever broke.
Near her bed there is now a golden music box with an open letter where is written:

"A gift for you which I didn't buy because it made me think of you.
Absolutely not.
But there wasn't any book on "Folk Tales of Samp Beasts" in the jewelry
(Felix tried to cross the word but now the cat is out of the bag)
oddities shop so...

(signed) F.F."

In the meantime thre are two men are discussing near her tent:
Ashe - Felix! When did you have returned? -
Felix - Last night Ashe. -
Ashe - But I didn't see you! -
Felix - Did you were assigned on duty guard post? -
Ashe - No... -
Felix- Than, that's why you didn't see me. -
Ashe - Oooooh Right! Well, welcome back Felix- -
