It’s not like the news business was flourishing in 2015 — together FB, Craigslist and Google sucked the ad revenue out of news — especially local news — almost decade earlier. The pivot to video was a minor cliff in that decades-long decline.

I think there's a cluster but it isn't as tightly connected as ppl think and that for any account in it there are ppl who think the account is central to tpot, that the account is an annoying intrusion, who think the account is peripheral, who don't recognize the account at all

That’s how my mom did it. “Oh, you want me to settle who gets to play with the toy? How about I just fucking break it?” I’d like to think she was channeling some inner Solomon, but I think she was just in a very unfulfilling marriage and didn’t really want kids (at least not at 18).
