Spending $850 vibe coding to-do list apps hoping to get rich is just one notch above spending the money on lottery tickets. While execution is now “free” due to vibe coding, it also means every software category will be hyper competitive. Your AI slop app is just more noise to users.

The number of combinatorics papers submitted to the arXiv is growing at a crazy rate! It may be mathematicians rushing to use AI to knock off lots of problems. This will cause big problems for journals, unless they raise their standards. proofsandprompts.com/2026/09/25/d...
A graph of combinatorics papers submitted to the arXiv per month, going from about 180 in 2010 to 1100 in August 2026. The big speedup started around March 2026. The 2025 average was about 550 / month.

AMD gave OpenAI a path to owning up to 10% of AMD if it buys enough AMD chips. Now Akamai is giving Anthropic a path to owning up to 5% of Akamai based partly on how much cloud capacity it buys. A discounting tactic which creates a circular dynamic given the deals often inflate the stock price.

I’ve seen many engineers dunking on this position but I think it’s reasonable. Vibe coding is essentially replacing “no code” platforms and arguably the recent sale of Airtable is an indication of how that segment is compressing. Those users have no need for source code, it’s simply unnecessary.
