💎New preprint: The Rise of Diamond OA Journals in Earth Sciences A decade ago a few scholar-led, no-fee journals started reimagining Earth science publishing. We map the wins & the fragilities that will decide whether this scales. #OpenAccess #DiamondOA doi.org/10.31223/X56...

Following our latest publication with @romainvaucher.bsky.social in @sedimentologika.bsky.social , we wrote a piece arguing that scientists can, and should, reclaim control over scholarly publishing. A fairer publishing system is not a distant ideal. We scientist can already take action 💎

Very proud of this piece written with @romainvaucher.bsky.social Most research is funded with public money & written and reviewed for free by researchers : yet the results are controlled by corporations that set the rules and capture the profits. As an academic, you can help change the system!

Hi new followers! 👋 I’m a sedimentologist studying Earth surface processes and how (paleo)climate shapes our planet. 🌍 In a recent study, we found that climate drove repeated advances of a deltaic system ~51 million years ago, during Earth’s hothouse conditions. 🔥 (1/4) 🔗 doi.org/10.1130/G525...
