I think I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t actually enjoy painting minis. I like minis. I like making terrain and painting that but the finer details of figure and the layers and the highlights and all that, I don’t have the patience for it!

Im a big fan of drawing out my dnd combat environments on a white board for my in group sessions but ive always struggled a bit with properly drawing in elevation. Any advice or suggestions? Sometimes if I have time I make terrain and that can solve it but I don’t always have the time to do that.

August has been a difficult for me but through it all, penciling time to GM my home game has been a true blessing. Rolling dice & telling stories has always meant lots to me, but when an escape from reality also gives me a reprieve from difficult times I’m reminded of why this hobby is so magical.

I build top-down. Factions first, then heads, major opposition within the faction, a player interface character, and then more as the story requires. Like, let's say we're doing a fantasy game with a nation at war pushing for important resources to make weapons.
