Earlier this week, I agreed to interviews with two USA Today journalists. They wrote fantastic articles about the Cornell case that I'm proud to have been a part of. What I did not know is that their employer considers interviews to proprietary and opens up recordings to be used by any journalist.

look man I'm sure the One Billion Dollar stadium is going to be cool and all but right now Northwestern is beating the crap out of Deion's Colorado in front of some makeshift bleachers on a field where I used to play intramural football and I'm gonna miss that

We simply had to intentionally destroy the world’s strongest economy while dismantling our scientific and educational infrastructure to ensure that a team with a trans girl would never finish second place in the Mountain West volleyball standings again

Incredibly sad to report that ABC News is indeed eliminating 538. I count myself incredibly lucky to have worked with such incredibly smart, kind people for 7 years. Thank you all for coming along for the ride.

A pathetic and humiliating walkback from the would-be destroyers of CFPB, who know they've lost in court and can't kill the agency. This email from Mark Paoletta went to employees today. It neglects Vought's Feb 10 "stop-work" email that superseded it, ending all activity with no exceptions.
On behalf of Acting Director Vought, I am writing to you to ensure that everyone is carrying out any statutorily required work, as he set forth in his February 8th email.
On February 8, 2025, you received an email from Acting Director Vought directing you to halt several classes of work unless "required by law" or expressly approved by the Acting Director. On February 10, 2025, you received an email from Acting Director Vought directing you to reach out to me for the authorization required by the February 8 email. These measures were intended to ensure that new leadership could establish operational control over the agency while ensuring that it would continue to fulfill its statutory duties...Many of you understood this and continued to perform functions required by law and sought approval from me to perform work, which I have promptly granted.
It has come to my attention, however, that some employees have not been performing statutorily required work. Let me be clear: Employees should be performing work that is required by law and do not need to seek prior approval to do so. If you have any questions, please reach out to me immediately, and I will promptly give you an answer and authorization if warranted. If you are aware of other employees that are needed to assist you in performing a statutorily required task but are not doing so, please raise this with me immediately.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Mark Paoletta

There's an amazing scene in THE OTHER TWO where Brooke's date becomes a billionaire and *immediately* transforms from a nice normal guy into a roided-out plastic surgery nightmare chud with an obsession for space travel. I keep thinking about that for some reason.

Important to note that the DOGE employee seeking access to your banking data is not the one that resigned, and then returned, because of his racist messaging. It's another one. www.reuters.com/world/us/sta...
Kliger has reposted comments from white supremacist Fuentes, who has at times been banned from social media platforms including Facebook, YouTube and Twitter for hate speech.
Kliger shared a December 4 post from Fuentes' X account. Kliger has since unshared the post, but Reuters examined a copy of the original repost via the Internet Archive.
In the post on X, Fuentes mocks a post praising a photo of an apparently white couple pictured with two light-skinned children and a dark-skinned baby. In his post Fuentes referred to "adopted Black kids", denigrating the apparent interracial adoption. He also used the word "huzz", a pejorative term for women. Reuters could not immediately establish the identity or ethnicity of the people depicted. Fuentes did not respond to a request for comment on the post by email.

in 2016, Charlie Baker and the NCAA took pro-trans stances. In 2025, they instantly gave in to transphobia to stay on the good side of Trump and Congress. In doing so, they've helped give cover to all the other anti-trans garbage these bigots will try to pull. open.substack.com/pub/rodgersh...

A decade ago, the NCAA stood up on trans issues. Now that trans people are under attack, they've given in to bigots.

It’s a lesser point but the idea that AI will immediately prove a useful tool for streamlining government is by itself such a ludicrous tell. It’s a separate indicator of the staggering overconfidence these children have.
