I did get one other birthday gift for Shawna. Several months before her birthday, she called out that Zelda and her Age of Calamity Master Cycle would make an incredible Akira-style poster. I took notes and then quietly commissioned the incredible @lokyu.bsky.social to create it. It came out well!

When you have to contain a cosmic horror and/or release one using really big lock-picks. Destiny 2 Red Bull can for scale. * The lock/lock-picks were not made by me, but by an incredible coworker.

A big chest is wrapped by a giant chain and locked with a comically large lock. The lock has “ADEPT 7” engraved on it. In front of the chest are 3 correspondingly large lock-picks. On top of the chest is an empty Destiny 2 Red Bull can.

In keeping with the general themes of our marriage, yesterday Shawna and I celebrated our 20 year anniversary by walking about 14 miles of coastline. I feel so so so incredibly lucky to be married to such an incredible partner in adventure!

Our cat Gabby jumped up on the couch, unexpectedly landed by glasses that shifted, and panicked. She leapt partially over my head and I nearly lost an eye. As it is I’ve got a cool face battle wound like a CRPG character that will hopefully heal up cleanly.

Today we wrapped our Pathfinder 2e Strength of Thousands campaign. The front part of the game was a big (tweaked) final fight, then I grabbed a giant glass of water and took them through the epilogue, and I was really happy with how it turned out. The campaign was almost 3 years, and it was great!

Azul is an amazing travel game. Just get a 1-gallon ziplock bag, and the boards, rules, and disks, all fit into it perfectly, with no need for the big box!
