Lived near the water for a LONG time in California, and I was present for two separate drownings. None of them were perceived by anyone onshore. Usually, a surfer was the first to alert anyone, mostly because they were ever vigilant about anyone that might be in their line.

Just left an ICE Protest in Portland OR that started at City Hall and marched to the ICE building. Main demand was "revoke" the lease that lets the agency use their building. Crowd was 500-1000. They gassed massively after about an hour. Had to pull a lot of 16-17 year old girls out of the gas.

Just got gassed pretty good at the labor union anti-ICE protest in Portland. Massive march, 5-10k strong. Vibes were very much liberal rather than radical. Lots of kids and older folks. They gassed the whole crowd as soon as it marched on ICE, in broad daylight.
