Oh, don’t I know it! We were talking about away trips on Friday night. I can’t do too many this season - work, family etc. Even the Euros haven’t really worked out. There’s a chance of a Dublin trip in Feb, but that’d be with some ex Cardiff U11s coaches / teachers tied with their tour.

It was really disappointing, but maybe it’s a reflection of the standards we now expect, as much as anything. My positive, is it’s exactly the sort of game that gives the coaches a huge amount of material to work on for the season.

Mulder’s kicking game was frequently v good. Teddy is utter class! Basham has developed real control to his game - very strong performance. Malan grew into the game. He changes the dynamic in midfield: discuss. Please just let Mason play (injury free 🙏) as I’m sure he can iron out those odd lapses.

The particularly galling aspect with S4C is that they’re not paying much for the rights, yet they can dictate Cardiff v Bath’s Champions Cup clash being at 8pm on a Saturday, for example. All for Welsh language coverage, but they wield too much power for little return.

For years supporters have made representations to move derbies out of the Saturday 7.45 slot because public transport after full-time is close to non-existent, particularly west-to-east. That was heeded by the powers that be for a short time but no longer this season.

Not to absolve the Scarlets of any criticism over the crowd size necessarily, but I would say that broadcasters (specifically S4C) could also take some of the blame. Their insistence on using the late Saturday night slot for rugby undoubtedly impacts attendances.

Because of the multitude of pressures on schools atm, especially around accountability measures, I'm not sure they have the capacity, funding or ratios to flex in the way that is needed when you have children with very high level needs in a setting. I don't think 'more training' is a solution.

I love watching Cardiff Rugby. I loathe the URC - as a league, it’s utter pants. There are quality teams in it, but the format is guff. Zero interest in the league other than European qualification.

Loving the reaction of the Wales Women team after that narrow loss to USA. They’re genuinely gutted despite some excellent stuff, especially 1st half. USA managed the 2nd 40 very well, but these Welsh players know they can beat this level of opposition. Brilliant progression! #WALvUSA

Is it really surprising that a winning team is found guilty of financial rule breaking? Football (& the Premier League especially) is a sport where obscene amounts of money are thrown at individual players in order to build a champion squad. It actively incentivises pushing the financial limits.

I think the biggest thing I took away is that there didn’t appear to be anything catastrophically wrong that was unfixable. Lots of stuff to tidy up & accuracy was lacking, unsurprisingly. Lots of youngsters out there at the end looking pretty comfortable IMO.
