Salford and Bury residents are rejoicing as they finally connected Mark E. Smith’s grave up to a dynamo. The price of this LP surely has him spinning in his grave at previously untold levels.

You can see why bin lorries keep catching on fire. I discovered one of my Amazon Kindle batteries had started to swell this morning. I've so far spent *all* morning trying to find a way to dispose of the battery - with zero resolution

This week I learned that the Apple AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation actually do a decent job at drowning out the engine noise inside a Twin Otter tiny plane.

Another day, another bit of incremental improvement that used to be in the Scotrail app, now missing in the new app. I wish I’d bought this week season ticket on The Trainline now.

Make any comment about the evil of AI on the internet and you will inevitably get people saying, "Ah, but you can't halt progress." You know what else people thought was progress not long after it came into common use? Asbestos.

a primary school kid designed the pigeon mascot, dougie, for rutherglen's 900th anniversary. it's a cute pigeon. it's got wings! he's the perfect mascot for a quintessential scottish burgh. cute, right? and well, not every day your town turns 900 years old.

People that say 'Generative AI is here to stay!' don't forget that just 10 years ago, a similar amount of money was pumped into 'The Metaverse'. Facebook even changed the name of the company, with the confidence of a mediocre white tech bro with lots of shareholder value.

Does it need a select committee to tell them that the countries that win take Eurovision seriously. They hold Eurovision style song selection finals, and then release the song ACROSS EUROPE. THAT PLACE. WHERE PEOPLE CAN VOTE FOR IT. www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/ar...

Another day, another powerbank fire on a plane. It frustrates me as I buy high quality and aviation certified powerbanks. Some knee jerk reaction will come into force at some point banning all of them just cos people keep buying cheap-ass knock-off ones. Sooner the gov regulate the better.

B&Q used to be the bastion of great shop floor customer service, but today absolutely awful. Two members of staff were utterly useless, and more interested on chatting on their headsets. Got sent to two wrong aisles, then got told that they didn't stock the item. Only for me to find it eventually.

I overheard an old couple in Tesco struggling to find things in the newly re-organised shop. I helped them, but they just couldn't fathom why a random person would help them out with their shopping. 'Why did you want to help us?' my answer; 'If I can help, why wouldn't I?'

These people don’t understand the concept of “grandfather clock ownership” of these assets. They existed long before them, and they will exist long after them. I guess it’s so different to vacuum cleaners that only exist for a brief blip before they are irreparably broken.

Everyone complaining that Christmas stuff is in shops already, think of the logistics. Manufacturers will make it in their slump periods of July & August. Then what do you do with the stock? It would be insane it filling a warehouse for 4-5 months taking up space...

Very weird thing coming out of the supermarket at lunch. Near 100% humidity out, but several people with umbrellas & a woman running with her hand over her head like it was raining. But it wasn’t. It hadn’t rained before either as the floor was dry. Was like some weird collective hallucination.
