Also, they still have those games and could play them again. There are so many games that are just a joy to play, new and old. But some people don't want to actually have a good time with their precious time.

Are candidates immutable and unmovable? Or should they be hip-checked when they go against the principles of their potential voters? Now is the exact time to try and adjust his positions/thinking. Otherwise, what good is an unprincipled Senator? You want more Fettermans? THAT helps who?

this is, I think, one of the inherent problems with LLMs using natural language interfaces: they are a statistical tool *that looks like* a logical tool statistical approaches can be a useful way to find related information! BUT for it to be useful you have to *know that's what it's doing*

I would welcome a job. I don't want to find out how it feels to see myself and my family homeless because of a pair of capricious mega-corporations squeezing pennies. And now that's my looming future.

...they just want to strap them into the slop machines to try and extract greater value of even less investment. It's silly, too, because good artists rarely ask for more than they need to survive and continue to push their art. They actually find work fulfilling. An idea that eludes "owners."

The most insane part of this is that they (executive class) know they're not creative in the ways that make for good stories of any kind. Their jokes are bad. Their anecdotes are trite and tired. They are charmless bullies enamored only of power. The smart ones know they need creative people...

1/ This is great reporting by @justinbaragona.bsky.social at Zeteo. And it's a perfect launching point for something I've been meaning to rant about. There is an ongoing belief in many news organizations that there exists a large, gettable conservative audience.

created an infographic to explain why arguing the hypocrisy of fascist talking points only helps erode your point. don't fight bad faith with good faith. don't engage with their point. don't meet them where they are. they're killing people. eat their frame.
an image using sprites from Kirby's Adventure from the NES

two series of animations

1st series. Kirby standing still and then runs into a star and gets injured. it is captioned "negating a frame reinforces it"

2nd series: Kirby encounters a star, eats it, and then blasts it out as a fireball. it is captioned "eat their frame"

Substack is 100% doing another round of big cash payouts for reputation laundering. A fair number of people accepting that money aren't hurting for it so I'm not clear on why they're doing it. BTW, if you're still on Substack, why, but also, here's a resource to get off: leavesubstack.com
